General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Hofstra
« on: May 24, 2006, 06:17:53 PM »
I'm moving back in with my folks in Suffolk County.  It'll be a little bit of a shock, but worth it.

I have nothing but love for the 22-year olds, but I'm glad to hear from some other late 20-somethings!  :)

Hey guys.  Are you all full-time?  I've been out of school for four years and I'm quitting my job to attend full-time.

I hear ya hon.  I still can't decide.

You can still clerk in Cali.  Arlington will be a big environmental change for you.  I'd be hesistant to make that move without first seeing the place.  It seems that all signs point to SD.

Thanks, Apples.  You're right - subjective stuff, but important if you're going to spend 3 yrs there.  Best of luck to you.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Too late to ask for more money?

Go for it.  I asked 2 schools for more money.  One gave it to me, the other did not.  The school that did not give me more wasn't rude about it at all.  They just stated matter-of-factly that the funds had all been allocated.

Clarification:  I'd love to hear the opinions of other decent, hard-working people and not a deranged troll.  Thanks!

Seton Hall v. Hofstra.  More money from Hofstra and can live with parents.

I'm in a similar situation... except money is a HUGE issue for me.  Mailed my deposit to SHU and then received a letter at the 11th hour from Hofstra with a $15K scholarship.  I'm from LI, so I could live w/ my parents.  I'm freaking out.  I might end up with deposits at both schools....
