No LSN admits since 3/20 (there is one outlier that seems to have conflated a scholarship offer on 3/29 with an admit date)

Penn had 194 admits and 61 admit--> withdrawn at the time of this posting.
Duke 181 Admits and 79 admit ---> withdrawn Michigan 272 admit and 74 admit ---> withdrawn. I don't care about the rest, so someone else can do them. Either way, this isn't reliable or useful data. 5
Law School Applications / Re: Vandy and Penn - Method of Notification??« on: April 14, 2006, 06:44:56 PM »I just found out that decisions have been mailed to me from both Vandy and Penn. I haven't received them yet and don't know what they are -- I fully assume them both to be rejections, or possibly WL -- but I'm wondering if either school has notified students of acceptances via snail mail...?? Penn hasn't accepted anyone since 3/20 (i think the sole 3/29 lsn report is for a scholarship). Most acceptances post EA late december decisions have been phone--> email. WL has been email. All letters have been dings, not WL. Good luck though, I hope its an acceptance and that they send one my way too. 6

Called the admissions office today to check status (almost 4 months since deferral). I am 'still under review' and a decision hopefully will be made soon. I did not press for a firm timeframe, because I want them to take as much time as posisble if it helps me.
I am pretty confused about what they are waiting on if not yeild numbers. I have lower than median numbers for both lsat and gpa, but some strong ties to the school. I have gotten my hopes up at this point, foolishly. Anyone have any theories about the still pending late 05 deferrals at this point? 7
Wait List / Re: wailtlists at Penn« on: April 07, 2006, 06:05:44 PM »I've been waiting for over 3 months since being deferred. Many other people have too. It's gonna be a while, deal with it. Sorry I came off as snippy. I was hoping to put it in context though. There seems to be a very large number of folks from Deferrals and RD that will go on well into April. My sense is (just conjecture) that PEnn needs to have firm yeild info before moving onto borderline apps. My best guess is that we won't hear much until late April(deposit date), save for an update email. 8

Can someone who got the deferal/rejection letter give a clue as to the post mark? I'm in CA, was fully expecting to get one today, but came up empty. Obviously I've gone insane but would very much like to know. 10
Where should I go next fall? / Re: Penn v. Columbia/NYU« on: March 23, 2006, 02:21:06 PM »
Columbia and NYU are both better for employment (even if its a small difference)and columbia is much better for clerskship academia.
Unless you are averse to NYC, have very strong personal connections to philly or got a lot more money from Penn, it doesn't seem like much of a choice. |
