Transferring / Re: Chances at CLS or Penn?
« on: July 09, 2009, 01:00:33 PM »
Who gives a shi.t whether there was substance?  I'm not talking about you -- your post was just generally worthless, rather than bad or misleading.  People are telling OP to apply to schools without knowing his stats.  That's enough to call it misinformed advice.

Is anyone planning on doing the write on competition?

When did people start giving transfer advice without knowing the person's stats?

OP, terrible first post.

During the EA cycle, yes.  But at some point during that same day I was given access.  I maybe went 5 hours or so without access before I could get in.  Good luck.

I saw this post on TLS as well, but decided just to post here.

With your GPA, you are likely first in your class.  Along with Law Review and the fact that you want to work in DC, this should be enough to stay.

That you'll have guaranteed interviews from the best firms without a blind lottery is a huge deal.

One thing you're not mentioning but is very important is your network base at American.  Having friends and professors at your current school is a big pro.  When I went to ask for LORs from my professors, they made it clear that between me and a student that stayed at the school, they'd give them a rec over me in the future.  When I'll invariably need a recommendation for a 2L SA position, it would have been nice to count on that.

Has anyone started playing around with Symplicity and EIW bidding yet?

Didn't get the e-mail for some reason.

So all of you first-round admits sent in your deposit by today, right?

How much were you expecting, ToTransfer?  Any news on UChi?  I have not been following the thread, but I'd like to know.

The info is there; right under the quick links box on the right.

Too much information to read through now.  I'll wait until my last final in a week, when I also plan on writing my personal statements and filling out applications for other schools.

The most important thing right now is my last two finals, followed by getting one more LOR from a professor..can't wait for how awkward that will be.
