Current Law Students / Re: Anyone know about the 5 year requirement?
« on: April 19, 2010, 10:58:25 AM »
It varies by state. What state are you in. How long have you been with it?

I think thev5 years is more of a school requirment. Michigan is 6 years and I was tolf that the ABA rules allow up to 7.

Do you know if you take longer if there's still a way to finish the JD or is that a requirement they won't be flexible with?

CA and I am coming up on 4 years, just in money problems and wondering if I will be giving up the chance to finish the JD (taking the Bar is a separate issue) if I can't finish it within the exact 5 year period...

Just want to be able to finish my degree instead of leaving it from ever being finished.  Taking the Bar and those requirements I can deal with, but I'd be pretty mad if I couldn't finish in any way if I couldn't get back to school and finish it within the next year...

I know a lot of Bars require you to finish law school within 5 years.  Also a lot of law schools follow this by requiring the same thing.  I was wondering if you could ever finish it outside the timeframe if you did not want to take the Bar...

i'm not sure.  sounds a little over the top to me.  i do see how they could come in handy for all the fancy networking in law school.  but still...  so aside from the obvious, what would one put on the card?  class year? law school name?  favorite food?

sexual orientation.

I was wondering seeing these on my school's site, and hearing some people talk about them, do people really get these?  Are they worth buying when you start to hand out to friends/aquaintances?

Section 1 here...

I didn't really look at your schedule? How is it? You have Scheckter for Property, right? I've heard good things about him.

Pretty cool if you don't mind waking up late and getting out late, we start at 10-11 but end at 4-5.

I heard good things about Hull and Schechter, no one knows the other 2.

My school happens to rotate classes (i.e. some classes are cut to one semester, so one section might have contracts 1st semester, and the other section would have it second semester).

I feel that, on my PC that I built for myself, certain things I spent extra money on (other than the basic processor).  Video card and Sound card for games (which I will do none of, so I'm not thinking about that now.

But one thing I'm super-anal about are the keyboard and mice.  I have a wireless mouse for my laptop, and I love it.  I also got a better keyboard.  I personally am not going to use my laptop too much, and I don't mind the keyboard so much, I really strongly recommend an external mouse though.
