Transferring / Re: What is up with the GULC Status Checker?

Not to burst your bubble but I still got preferred WL with straight As this semester and top 2% ranking.  Granted I showed zero interest and didn't even send them a real transcript because I don't want to leave now, but I just thought I'd give you an idea.  Good luck though- hopefully you showed more interest than I did.

Sorry didn't mean to offend.  I guess "not law school apt" then?

Also you don't have those people who failed out last semester to help out the curve.  I know at least 5 or 6 people at my school that already dropped out.

How could you leave out: Stambovsky v. Ackley!!

"Whether the source of the spectral apparitions seen by defendant seller are parapsychic or psychogenic, having reported their presence in both a national publication and the local press, defendant is estopped to deny their existence and, as a matter of law, the house is haunted."

I think you are right.  My status still says "complete" even though I have my deferral letter in hand.  Either that- or they're just really dragging it about updating statuses.

Don't give up hope guys!  They might've not liked something about my application; my PS wasn't great at all (cause I don't have a real reason for wanting to go as mentioned).  And my lowest grade was in legal writing, maybe that bothered them?

Ps. It's soooo nice out and I'm inside studying  :-[

I've said this before in a different thread.  But never planned to transfer if I kept my class rank up at GMU.  It was more of a "oh my god what if I don't do as well this semester and don't make law review" security blanket (and hey, that worked out well...not).  So yeah, going to have to study now  ;D  For me personally, I want to work in DC, likely for the gov't and I have a nice scholarship.  I see no reason to transfer from GMU to GULC where I'd have similar prospects at OCI (assuming top 5-10% at GMU) and wouldn't have to awkwardly explain why I transferred.  However, I have less of a reason to transfer already being in DC than someone who is not in the region already, so if you transfer to GULC from the midwest or west coast you would have an easier time explaining why the transfer.

At the end of the day it probably depends on how happy you are at your school and what your career goals are.  Sure being top 5% at GULC is better than top 5% at a T30, but being on law review and top 5% at a T30 may be better than being top 1/3 or 1/2 at GULC and not being on a journal.

So my status checker hasn't changed to "Decision" yet?  Strange.  Maybe they're doing it on Sunday again?  Seems silly to send the letter out and not switch it.

Hi gmason.  May you have better luck!   :)

I have no idea what went out.  It's just sketchy that they sent out decisions and didn't change the status checker's over.  They'll probably go over at midnight?

No.  I have no desire to go part-time.    ;D
