Transferring / Transferring from Touro?« on: January 08, 2010, 02:25:57 PM »
I am a 1L that just finished my first semester at Touro, after grades came back i finished with a 3.65 gpa, which included a Cali Award in Torts. I was curious what my options would be if i was to consider transferring,i do want to remain in the NY area. Thanks for any input

We've had 3 people pass in our Contracts class already, and today the professor gave us all a lecture on the importance of preparing. Seriously i dont know whats so hard about just looking up the case online and finding a brief if you couldnt get all the reading done, at least if you do that you wont look like a complete idiot.

The thing i noticed about Romlaw is that the briefs are keyed to the actual casebook and includes only the material in the specific book that you are using including concurring and dissenting opinions as well as rules of law applied.

Today i received an ad for this database called RomLaw and went online and have downloaded a free trial. They have casebriefs keyed to each casebook as well as a law dictionary and other study/exam aids. I was curious if anyone else uses the product and if they have had success with it before i decide to shell out the 59 bucks for the year.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Seton Hall vs. Hofstra $$« on: June 13, 2009, 08:13:49 PM »perhaps I am wrong when I make this bold statement, but it seems like Hofstra Law has a joke of a reputation in the NYC Metro Area. I don't think a law degree from Hofstra is highly regarded outside of Long Island. Seton Hall isn't great but it seems to offer a lot more opportunities than Hofstra. Wouldnt Say it is a Joke, but it doesn't place as well as Some of the Other Schools in NY like Columbia, NYU, Fordham, Brooklyn, Cardozo, St, John's 8

CUNY is alot cheaper and will leave you with a much smaller debt load.

They are giving me $12,000 per year, and i am lucky enough that i will not have to take out any loans to pay for the rest. I have decided to attend Touro, if i do very well then i may look at transferring to a higher ranked school, but if not i think i will be able to be successful with a Touro Degree as long as i network, pass the bar, and have good summer work. |
