For what it's worth, every school finishes applications at the end of April. Davis got back to me the last week of April with a WL. This is not uncommon if you look at accept/reject graphs.
So, Santa Clara is not late, admitting incompetence, or anything else... IMO they are actually being sincere, giving you an update and all they can do at this point to ease your patience.

I think Loyola Law School LA..

Have you taken any practice LSATs? If not, what makes you think you're 164-170 capable? Just wondering.

I had a 2.8/164. Rejected from Hastings. WL at Davis. Accepted to Loyola. Scholarship to Santa Clara.

Should be good indicators for you...

Another note on bar passage rates: It would only make sense to use that as a factor for schools in the same state. Schools in different states should not be compared to each other for Bar passage %... CA is notoriously hard, so a CA school with a few % lower pass rate than a school in an easier state is not that indicative.. My opinion, anyway.

New methodology, pretty cool. Aside from class size variance, seems interesting.

Worst case, you get a great job in Chicago and then transfer after a few more years to a different office.

You are out of your mind if you think you will be denied a job because of "overqualification."

Thanks for the tips.

The school is Santa Clara. I have the forum to apply for an increase already, just need to fill it out and fax it over. Just wondering what to include on it, and when is the best time.

I think I understand, though. Will go with route 2 above in the next few weeks (deposit due by early-mid April).
