You should be able to get in, I would wager, just about anywhere except the most prestigious schools, and with a good scholarship, to boot. I would bet you could get in to at least a few of the mythical "T14" schools, too. Your good GPA in an engineering major will count for a lot.

I would try for anything ranked at least up to #20 or so, if you're interested. Heck, I would apply for as many schools as you can afford (and a lot of schools will give you a fee waiver if you ask). Your stats might not get you in everywhere you want to go, but they should be good enough for at least one or two of the "almost-Ivies." The worst that can happen is you can be turned down.

I agree with Rob; your major doesn't matter.
Indiana is supposed to have a good reputation, but just how good it is (and whether or not it's an "almost Ivy" school) has been the subject of some contentious debate lately. 5

I can't speak for CUNY, but NCCU does not have a good reputation in the Carolinas at all. The only grad. of note I know of is the previous governor of NC (Easley), and I believe he's currently the subject of a grand jury investigation.

As others have said, the employer could just fire you on the spot...or at the very least make the next few months awkward and unpleasant. Trust me, though your instincts to give them extra time to prepare for your departure is noble, but you don't owe them more than two weeks. They're under no obligation to treat you with the same courtesy, and there is a good chance they won't.
