ABA offers insurance for their members.  You can be a member while in school.  That's where I'm getting mine from while I'm in school since my school doesn't offer it and they can just tack it onto FA so that nothing comes out of pocket for me right now.

I've been looking for a place to live, either by myself or to split with someone, or even looking for someone who already has a place and needs a roommate, but haven't had much luck.

If anyone is out there reading this and will be in Grundy this fall and looking for a roommate, please let me know.  Most people are scared of rooming with people they don't know, but in my experience the best roommate I've ever had I didn't know until she walked into our dorm room freshman year.

I'm going this fall and keep getting the same flack from people.  Only 1 person has actually been able to give me decent reasons, but the way he described everything is not how things are working out for me, so I believe he just had a bad experience.  Everyone is very nice and helpful at the school.

I'm agreeing with you.  If someone has something bad to say about the school, I would like more specifics besides it's new to the ABA list and small in a small town.

I like living in a more suburban area, but I don't think I would like a 2 hour drive to classes every day.  The rates for the area for rent doesn't seem to be very high.  I just can't find much that is listed and have limited resources trying to find anything.

Do you know of any other towns that may be closer to Grundy that may have more available?

It wasn't my first choice, but I can't afford much else right now, so I had some questions.

I recently went to Grundy to look around and kind of get a feel for the area, and picked up a classified paper and the Virginia Mountaineer to see what kind of places were up for rent...  I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas on how to find housing in the area?  Or if you had any suggestions on what towns are nearby that would be a good place to look?

Also, even though it isn't one of the best schools, I was wondering if most of the students were actually enjoying their experience there...

The last thing is...Where do you go SHOPPING?  I saw a grocery store and a Wal-Mart far into the future, but is there any were else that I would be able to buy something besides groceries nearby?  If not, how far away is the closest shopping center/mall?

Any input would be lovely!  Thank you!
