Current Law Students / Re: Tough Decisions : Which Law School?
« on: March 04, 2009, 03:16:00 PM »
Stay away from Tulane unless you want to practice in Louisiana. The Louisiana legal system is very unique. Unless you're going to be a part of it, don't go to school there.

Blueskies, we only did 7 cases on your Ks list and went through an entire casebook, missing very few cases.

Ours was pass/fail the first semester when all we did was memos. Now that we're into Motion and Appellate Briefs, it's graded.

I'm in. We believe our LRW profs wrote it out, realized the inherent problems, then let it happen anyway. There are issues that we should clearly argue, and our profs have barred those issue.

Job Search / Re: Summer abroad during 1L summer?

Nevermind, I looked at your LSN link. No matter. You shouldn't worry about studying abroad at the school you are considering. You should be able to work the first half of the summer as well, giving you an opportunity to do both.

Kennedyposter, are you considering Oklahoma? Your comment on the Cambridge program made me think you are. We have a great Oxford program summer after 1L. I have absolutely loved my 1L year, and many of my friends are going over for the summer. It allows you to do the first 6 weeks of the summer working (a normal firm duration) and still study abroad. Everyone who has done it has really really loved it.

An African or a European swallow?

Thanks a lot, nealric. Those are great. I want to know exactly what to expect on the off chance I actually get an interview.

I'm starting this just as a list of potential or actual OCI questions, just to give those (like me) an idea of what to expect.
