General Board / Re: Tips for law review write-on?
« on: May 26, 2009, 06:24:39 AM »
The part I am wondering about is writing on worth the extra effort. By that, I mean not just the time spent writing the Note to qualify, but the extra work required for law review during the rest of school. How much extra time is required for the work, and did anyone find that it took away from studying for other classes?

Studying and Exam Taking / Re: Screwed in Legal Writing

What dumbfounds me is the way the 1st semester LW is explained. IRAC method is beat in your head for exam taking - and then you get to LW and they want CREAC. I was under the wrong impression that writing a good exam and writing a good memo were similar. Not So! I had to receive a C+ in LW and Bs or As in all other classes to figure this out, but the adjustments have been made.

MC Law is a fine law school. The faculty and staff is very good and have an open door policy. The law school is located in Downtown Jackson and not on the undergrad campus. It has that close-knit small school feel. There is alot of interaction with the judges, lawyers, and firms in the local area. You often see a MS Supreme Court Judge walking down the hall.

There is no dorms for the law school. However, there is an apartment complex located directly across the road - but it is (how can I say this nicely) not so hot - but cheap and close.

Parking is available in a private lot at the law school. There is no cafeteria, but there is a food court where you can get coffee, snacks, and a sub or salad on campus. Also, there a couple off campus places to eat that are in walking distance.

The library is 3 stories and there is lots of room to study. You have wi-fi all over, and wireless printing also. There are tons of student organizations available.

I hope this helps. If you would like more info, just let me know.
