Hello LS Discussion Folks,

So I am a SoCal resident with a slight preference for staying local (I am a big family person), but I am open to relocating.  That said, I have a couple of solid options on my plate that have upcoming seat deposits due.  My four top choices are Temple, Rutgers-Newark, USF, and Pacific-McGeorge.  I am big on going to a school with top notch trial advocacy and legal writing, and would be a open to a move to Philly (Temple).  Pacific-McGeorge is appealing because they offering me scholarship money which is hard to pass on.  Lastly, USF and Rutgers-Newark are in the mix because I have several family members in both San Francisco and New Jersey.

Given my situation what do you guys think is my top prospect?

Temple if your down for the move, USF if not.  The others should not be considered.

Uhhhhhh you should probably hold off on this post and contemplating transferring until your Civ Pro and K grades come back-- 6 and 5 units classes can make a HUGE difference in your gpa....

You sound really arrogant by the way.  UCLA is very transfer friendly, but come on--you need to chilax.

For Mac users (FYI) there is no OneNote, BUT if you have the new intel macs and the new word, when you open the program and see the project galleries there is a "Word Notebook" layout.  I HIGHLY recommend this. No only does it allow you to take nots easier it records the lecture (granted you'll need to sit in the first 3 rows) AND sync the recording to the place you were typing.  So you can click in the margin next to your notes and hear the audio from that point.  Pretty nice and very usefull around exams when you don't want to sift thru a bunch of audio to get to your prof's explination of one area of law

Transferring / Re: Where Should I Transfer - Harvard/Stanford?

At risk of alienating everyone, I still would like some advice: Should I transfer to Harvard or Stanford?

Wow, congrats, I didn't know that Stanford even took transfers ( in theory they do but you know...).  Can we know where your transfering from/grades or % ranking?

I would prefer Stanford because of the small size of the classes/school and the weather.  I think it all depends on what you want to do and what your personal preferences are.  In terms of reputation I don't think there's much of a dif besides the fact that Harvard may have more name recognition.

Hello All

Sorry for the delay, these pics may or may not matter as move in days are fast approaching.  In fact, I went by the tower to drop of some paperwork ( why do they need so much info? !?)  a couple days ago and somebody had their U-Haul parked in the front and unloading their stuff!

Anyways enjoy, I think the questions have pretty much been answered, but I guess if they haven't ask me.  Oh and views start at the 8/9th floors.  My veiw sucks!!!!  Also I went to a studio that had a HUGE eat in kitchen.  I mean HUGE and the kitchen was WAAAAY newer than mine is. However; my carpet is a cheap berber while that studios is the afore mention classroom carpet.  I think they just update at different times and do different things so I'm pretty sure it's a luck of the draw.

Living Room-view of front doorkitch on the left

Hallway, bathroom at the end pretty big closet on the left and this hallway is to the right of the above pic

Pics are a given; as for the price adjustments I'll ask about floors making a difference. I think the determining factors are

1)proximity to the elavators (some apartments are right in front of the elevator which means you probably can hear every drunken party get off the elavator!)
2) Size
3) special features (extra high ceilings, walk-in closet, ect.)
4) View (not necc. floor although the higher you go I am sure the views are 360)

and those are not in order.  I also know that certain sides are really noisey at night (all of our neighboors who are not as lucky as us to live in actual apartments/homes) so perhaps that makes a difference.  I was told to request any side but east?  I think that was the side, but I know the west side is better for the noise factor.

We shall see tomorrow...

I think the views start about the 8th floor.  I'm going to see if I can get bumped to at least the 10th-there are bound to be people who don't accept their housing offers.  But if I don't I'll look on the bright side-if a fire or the big one happens during 1L I'm at an advantage!  I'm going to check out my apt on wed and I'll report back with all the info about views and the like. Moreover, if you guys have questions I'll ask them so post them before wed.  Also, if any of you guys are in the bay already or will be visiting feel free to call the housing people and ask to check out your apt.  As long as nobody is living in it for the summer you can look at it between 10-4.  Don't you love how I'm a wealth of information ? lol  :D
