Title: Worst LSN profile
Post by: $Bill on December 26, 2007, 11:55:08 AM
Ive been trolling LSN app updates, and it seems everyone gets into a school that makes them happy or satisfied, does anyone know any really good sob stories on LSN.  Like profiles where they applied everywhere with reasonable scores and were roundly rejected?

If you weren't applying as a URM for preferential treatment at upper tier schools then you would.

If you look at my LSN profile I applied to all types of schools. there are many tier 2 and tier 3 schools in that list. I wasn't expecting to get into the top tier schools, but since I had a fee waiver I decided to apply to all of them expecting to be rejected. Also, I have other soft factors besides being a URM that is getting me into these schools. While being black may also be helping, it is not the main reason.

That seems uncalled for.

But, a classic case http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/display.php?user=donbarzini

I saw the other soft factors mentioned in the profile, which I'm anxiously curious to read about when you decide to reveal them.  I have tried to reserve judgment as to what was the more significant contributing factor till then.

God, stop kidding yourself. I'm sure adcomms are creaming themselves at your part time work experience.

It's not part-time work. It's significant. There are a few people that I have revealed them to. Maybe some of them will back me up.

If it's something like you were awarded the congressional medal of honor for heroics in  Iraq/Afghanistan, were one of the first-responders after 9/11,  letter of recommendation from  working for Justice Bader, etc. etc. then I'd agree with you that those are significant and chastise you for not just being forthcoming with them.

I don't know what your motivation is and you really have no reason to give a *&^% what I or anyone else thinks anyhow, but personally I'd rather be forthcoming to admit to something that's highly well regarded and impressive as a reason for being accepted despite lower stats than to leave open the general implication that it was due to being a URM.

How can you get a 3.74 in college and only score a 138 on the LSAT?  That is really strange.

Why do these people apply to T-20 schools with a sub 150 LSAT. I think even if the person is the last of his nationality on this planet, he will most likely be rejected.

That person applied to G-tow ed, he must have been smoking something.

 :D :D :D

My stats make me sad.  I can't imagine how these folks feel.

What exactly was Barzini's PS about? Can anybody who read it tell me? Also, were there other contributing factors to his being shut out across the board?

I read it a long time ago.  It was something about bringing diversity to a liberal school by being conservative.  He claimed to have written it in one night and it was EXTREMELY bad.

He was real young and naive (18 I believe).  I sure it came across in his applications.

If you look at his comments it appears he has a low GPA, and didn't break 160 on the first LSAT.

Get to know Wallace Stevens.

Although you'll just be considered a 171 by most schools.

Wallace would never tolerate such a grammatical error and you would be summarily dismissed. Also <4.0 GPAs are for troglodytes and scoundrels. I sincerely hope this helps.
