Title: Rejections for Fall 2007

Didn't see it out there so thought I'd get this one started.

O c'mon guys, really?  Just think, your rejection post along with your numbers will prevent some poor schmuck from applying where they have no business applying to in the first place.   ;D

Ding at GULC
Deferred at Minnesota

My numbers are MUCH too low for both school. I am expecting a very rejection rich cycle.

I didn't want to be the first one to post about my Ding, so I didn't.

I got my first letter on Monday.  I've been waiting forever to hear from at least one school, I was hoping my first letter would be an acceptance.  At least a Waitlist.  Nope, turns out it's a REJECTION from Minnesota.  I knew my numbers were low for them, but I was hoping against all that maybe my "soft factors" would atleast help me lend on the WL.  So basically now I'm panicing.

G-town ding.  Came yesterday only minutes after I discovered my cell phone got wet and is now dead.

On a positive note, Florida sent me an offer a few days earlier.

My heart goes out to those of you who got dinged before getting any offers.  That's rough.

UT said no.  It was my top choice.  I'm considering sending some thugs to Austin to remind them not to mess with Aspen.  In the mean time, all texans on vacaton in CO will feel my wrath.

Penn: no shock... wanted to go to the school, long before I ever took the LSAT... so I humored myself to the cost of almost 100 dollars...looking back I could have spent then money MUCH better, oh well... they were very nice in their rejection letter.

BC: Didnt expect to get Dinged so early in the cycle... I did not think my numbers were an auto reject... maybe they were or maybe it was something else about me they did not like.

All my numbers are below and more info is in my LSN link.

I still have some other good schools to choose from so no complaining here... Good Luck to everyone else.

Perhaps it says:
"We no want you."
"Go away."
or simply
"No." ?

I feel like getting one of those would sort of take the sting out of it.  None of this "you were among many qualified applicants" feel-good nonsense.  Just like "Uh-uh."  You get the message and there's no lingering or "Negative intro tone... But maybe I'm waitlisted or deferred!" 10-second fake out...

What are your numbers if you don't mind me asking?  American is really the school I'm hoping for, but I'm nervous that I haven't heard anything from them yet considering I've been complete for two months now.

I'm sorry about BC - I didn't apply as I know my stats are way below par for them, but I have been seeing a lot of stuff on the boards that many people were shocked by their rejections from BC and felt they were "random." So you're not alone! I guess BC is just being weird this cycle...

Hope you start reeling in the acceptances though! Best of luck! ;D

BC has been all over the map.  It's amazing how many rejections I've seen for people with numbers well above their medians.  Then I've seen some well below get in.  So weird...

Creighton really seems to want to bring those LSAT numbers up.  I noticed the 25th percentile LSAT score from the Fall 2005 entering class to the Fall 2006 entering class jumped from around 150 to a 155.

As a note, their 75th percentile for UGPA is already at a 3.7.

I have read the book, though, so it's ok :)

Now back to the topic - I am now officially the person with the highest index number on LSN to be rejected by the elite law school of IU Bloomington. It wasn't about the numbers, obviously. They wanted to interview me in person (phone wasn't good enough) because they were "concerned" about my horrific record of traffic violations (speeding, shortcutting, and the like ;D ) and a whopping dismissed(!) minor misdemeanor case from the college times. I thought the request was at best idiotic, and declined to come. Frankly, I wasn't that much interested in them anyway (didn't like the school when I visited it in the fall).

The funny thing is, when I applied, they assured me that in no way would my record affect their decision making process. They said "it was just for the bar." Yeah right. Didn't believe them to begin with... but now I know for a fact they are liars, too.

Ding -- UGA

for the record, I know my numbers are low but director of admissions told me that they look at your graduate school transcript if you have been out of undergrad for more than 5 years.   so take that 3.9 grad gpa and pair it with a subpar lsat and a urm and i thought that i maybe had a waitlist.  not sure why i fell for it, i mean they didn't even have time to give me a tour that lasted more than 5 minutes...

Rejected at UGA as well (according to my status checker).

Kinda heartbroken since I was really hoping to at least get a Waitlist from them.  People with my numbers and even lower index numbers gottne waitlisted, so I was hoping for the best.  Alas, disappointed again.

What the heck, with an index of 248.6, I'd be surprised if I were rejected. But then again, if I was accepted to a bunch of other good schools (as you were), I wouldn't be too upset :)

You came close to my index, but no cigar. However, two others have surpassed me as the highest indexes to get dinged at Boalt. *&^%. I can't do anything right.

(Also, @#!* em.)

You weren't surprised after getting rejected with 173/3.8??

Oh I see. Clearly, I have so much experience with academic related dings that I just see them as ordinary events :P :D

Thanks, Early Decision policy! We hardly knew ye...

Got my first rejection yesterday. Goodbye UT, we could've been great together.  :'(

I knew it was coming, but it still stings a little.

Dinged by NU today. 2.8/173, no WE or significant experience of any kind.  I was hoping for a wait list so I could try and sweet talk them into offering me a deferred admittance for 2008 while I got WE.  They must have been very unimpressed with my file.

Hastings gave me a big fat NOPE.

1st rejection of the cycle.  Wasn't planning to attend regardless, but a ding is never fun.

It seems strange to me that this thread is on page 7 and the acceptances thread is on page 91.
Are there really that few dings, or would this thread be as long if we layered the thread with condolences a la the Acceptance thread.

I'm sure it's a combination of the average LSDer gets more acceptances than dings, the lack of responses to a ding and also, the lack of posting dings.  People, I'm sure, are much more likely to post I GOT INTO... than I GOT DINGED AT...

Just a guess...

Heh, yeah no doubt.  No one wants to broadcast who rejected them!  I know I haven't posted all of mine and those I have are ones that I'm just so beside myself about.  Ok I'll say it, just plain pissed off with.   :D

Also rejections tend to come later in the cycle.  Those schools are still holding onto us debating if we're truly good enough to attend or not...

First rejection from Southwestern. I am really annoyed by that especially when I called them the day before the rejection letter was dated to see if they got my LSAT addendum and they really mean about it so maybe it was a blessing in disguise.... We'll see.....

Got my third rejection from Depaul yesterday.  The weird thing is each rejection letter I get is dated earlier and earlier.  The first one was like April 1 the second one was March 10th and this last one was February 7, just two days after I sent in my application.  I guess they don't want me.

Although, let's just say that Pacific rejection is probably the coldest letter I have ever read.

The Stanford letter basically tells their rejectees they are too stupid to make it. It's very professional but... fuckers.
