Title: BC early complete anyone?
Post by: vgirshkin on November 03, 2006, 10:14:47 AM
Has anyone heard anything from BC, especially if you applied EA?

I submitted my app mid September and all i got was their initial "We got your app submission" email.

I applied Sept. 25th EA and I haven't even received the 'we got your app' email...I'm starting to get a lil concerned.

I submitted on 10/22 and have heard nothing.  They have requested my report (10/23)  I figured I'd call next week sometime

I applied 9/21, and I heard that I was complete on (I *think*) 10/17.

How'd they notify you? Email? Snailmail? Candygram?

Email.  Though a candygram would have been nice  :)

My SAT's were just a few years ago so I knew them off the top of my head.

I submitted 10/3 and got an email saying my application was complete 10/17.
I applied EA. I notice that someone else got a complete email on 10/17--that might suggest they're sending the messages out in groups...

Good luck! ;D

I guessed on SAT scores -- from 1996 also -- and i'm not even sure i got that close.  +/- 50 points, i imagine.

hahahaa i think it's absurd they ask for SAT scores, but whatever, mine were pretty high, so i guess it benefits me. Why do you think they ask?

I haven't heard anything from them.

They probably ask to see a pattern.  If your SAT's are a 800 and you still pulled off a 4.0 they would probably see that as a positive.  If you got a 1500 on the SATs and a 170 on the LSATs and have a 3.8 they probably could care less.

maybe. but it's possible they ask it to see if it's not a fluke. If you got a 1500 on your SAT and a 170 on your LSAT, then maybe they're likely to see it as reinforcing your score. The SAT kind of tests different skills anyway, so maybe they want to see that?

All I know is i'm glad they didn't ask for high school GPA.

I called them and they told me I was complete over the phone.  I think they may be one of those schools that simply don't do the "complete" notification.

Definitely agree with that one.

I called today and asked too. I was careful not to be annoying about it, simply stating that I wanted to make sure (in advance) that I'd make the Nov. 22nd deadline (and would need to know if additional forms needed to be sent in).

What did they say?

I applied 10/30 and haven't heard anything beside noticing their request of my LSDAS report. I'll call before the 22nd if I still haven't third. I'll hand-deliver anything they're missing.

They said "Yep, we got it all - your file is complete. You're fine."

I guess the "You're fine" was in response to my attempt to come off as simply nervous rather than annoying. I went out of my way to make it clear I just wanted to make the deadline, and that I wouldn't have bothered them otherwise.

You're all probably complete too, if you're worried then just go ahead and call. They're very friendly.

I totally agree -- BC is great. I had foolishly failed to mark EA on the app even tough I had it in in Oct. and they switched me over even though it was after Nov. 1. It's nice to see such a friendly school.

Yeah...exactly. This -- amongst other things -- has made it rise on my list quite a bit. Hopefully I'll get in and have a chance to visit/decide.

I've either had really good or really bad experiences with schools admissions people, nothing inbetween.  Either schools respond to my e-mails in 24 hours (48 worst case) or they don't respond at all (many weeks gone by)!

BC is definitely one of the former that has been very helpful and responsive.

A friendly (or unfriendly) admissions office definitely affects my image of the school. I've found Washington & Lee to be very nice. William & Mary too. W&M accidently sent me an email saying it was nice to meet me at the NY forum, but I had really gone to the Boston forum. I chalked it up to a simple mix-up -- these places must be mass-mailing like crazy. However, I got a personal email from the admissions office later in the afternoon apologizing. No big deal, but I thought it was nice.

I think the attitude of an admissions office is an indicator attitude of the administration as a whole at a school.

Got an e-mail back from BC in less than 24 hours.  Informed me I was complete on October 27th,  I guess they do not send out notification.

I called.  Very friendly and I'm complete.  I really hope I get in now.
