Title: Grad Plus loan not approved yet - should I be worried?
Post by: cmathias on August 08, 2006, 01:28:44 PM
I applied for a gradplus loan the beginning of July, through T.H.E., and it's still in process. The $18,500 stafford loans have been approved, but I'm gonna need more than that. My classes start in less than 2 weeks. Is there any chance my gradplus loan won't be approved in time, and then what would happen?

I hope you have savings to help pay rent, food and spending.

Tuition can be late since you are waiting for loan to be disbursed.

Well, I have enough to get through this month. That's it. I thought I'd get money by the time school starts. My undergrad school had "emergency loans," where you could take out money you'd have to pay back before the semester ended - do most schools have those?

I would call them ASAP and get it done. It shouldn't take this long.

I called my financial aid office, and apparently the loans are being held up there. She assured me everything would be ok and approved before class begins. No more worries!
