Title: Penn!
Post by: talula8828 on March 25, 2006, 11:07:16 AM
I kept waiting for the rejection letter (since october) and I finally got it today.  Chances are good I'll be at cornell!

What did the letter look like? Does anybody know if they were accepted to Penn via USPS? Sorry to hear about the rejection. I will probably join you at Cornell if I get a Penn rejection as well.

It was a little, thin envelope.  I knew it the second I came home and saw it sitting on the table.  My understanding is that Penn has been e-mailing or calling all admitted students.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Letter came, oh well, it only makes my decision that much easier by giving me less options  :-\.

I agree, 2Legit. I've been saying for weeks that I wished they'd just reject me already (although I did feel a little let down when I opened the letter.)  But it's over now!  I have one more admitted student day but I'm about 90% sure I'll be Cornell (unless BU's admitted student day blows me away!)  And you have Michigan! :P

Yeah I got deferred from EA, and didn't even bother sending in a letter of continued interest

Can someone who got the deferal/rejection letter give a clue as to the post mark?  I'm in CA, was fully expecting to get one today, but came up empty.  Obviously I've gone insane but would very much like to know.

Was deferred EA (wrote Why Penn Essay).  Just got my rejection letter today.  What a bunch of fags.  I got into Columbia and NYU, so I'm thinking yield protection.

YP!?!?

Penn??? NEVER

Careful Googler, I said they YPed me, and I got at least 5 ppl responding on my LSN that "I was wrong," "I was being arrogant," etc

I wouldn't put much stock into anything an anonymous poster writes on your profile.  In any case, my cycle has turned out really weird.  I was in the first batch of acceptances at Georgetown, UVA, NYU, and Columbia, in one of the first batches of rejections at Harvard, deferred at Penn and Chicago.  Who knows?

I agree its all a big crapshoot.  I was in the first batch of acceptances for Michigan, UVA, NYU, and Cornell.  I have the second highest (last I checked anyway) scholarship from NYU on LSN (a few ppl have ~97k), and yet I got waitlisted at Chicago, and rejected at Penn...why?  Who the hell knows...

The same thing happened to me last year, 4.0/178.
