that your access will end March 31, 2006, it also is to inform you that
US News & World Report will be launching a new and improved edition of
America's Best Graduate Schools on Saturday, April 1.

I know the feeling.  I don't know why the emailed it to me this time.

So the new data will be available April 1st?  Or is it just a revised version of the old data.

I'm not sure I understand.  It will all be new data but not a lot will change.

what i mean is that on the e-mail it simply says a new version of the website not necessary new data.

It says new "edition" which I would think implies new rankings.

I believe that the new rankings were released at this time last year as well.  I think that the part about the new website was meant as "in addition to" the new rankings.

I hear they come out earlier in print than online so i guess they will be available in bookstores before apr 1.?

I think it's the opposite. Start looking for leaked numbers later in the month.

I got the same email (and the same email last year when I was enrolled too)- it is def. the new rankings (if there was still any question).

From what I remember from last year, yes.

Yes I know, I was just giving my person recollection based on my USNews membership last year.

Given that many of us have waited four months or more for ls decisions, I think we can wait 20 days for the rankings. ;)

And it will be leaked on xoxohth or LSD before either hitting the bookstores or becoming available online.

What is USNEWS doing this year for median lsat... do they compute the actual median lsat or just the median between the 25th and 75th percentiles? And just to make sure I've got the way "they" think right ...to them the 25th percentile represents the fact that 1/4 students had that lsat score or below it?

Does anyone else find it ironic that the rankings come out on Fool's Day?  :D

Nope. BC for it to be ironic, it has to be different from what you'd expect.

Beckett is right.
The April Fools Day release is a laughable coincidence.

The proper illustration of irony is best voiced as rain on your wedding day or a free ride when you have already paid.

That "a no smoking sign on a cigarette break" line always (okay, that's a lie. It bothers me now that you brought it up) irked me.

Cigarette break is temporal. 10 minutes for a smoke.

The sign only governs a specific spatial area, a room/office/building.

She can go somewhere else. The sign does not bar her from smoking everywhere in that prescribed period.

Itís not even a coincidence.

That's just bad physics in addition to bad song writing.

Yet at the same time, good business?  That song made her a lot of $$$.
