WOW!  Did you report this to the Dean?  Did you speak to Admissions?  They would be the first people that I would call.  Then check with that coffee shop and see if they have surveillance(sp?) video in their shop.  I would hate to think that they based their decision of what that creep wrote and he treated you like that.  Good Luck...

Yea if this is true I don't know if an online law school board is the best place to post allegations of this nature.

I didn't want to wade into this, since the whole thing seemed a little ... off (just look at the story), but apparently there are issues with this. The individual referenced has had a cyberstalker set up a bizarre Yelp account, pinterest account, and a twitter account, and has repeated this exact same post on multiple forums. The post on reddit was pulled down because the facts were ... not correct.

Someone has also attempted to defame the individual's son.

Now, I have no personal knowledge of these events, but this seems ... way weird. It would appear that there is a concerted effort to do something bad, here, and this post is part of it.

I wasn't going to respond this either, but the poster may want to look up the definition of "defamation" and it's potential consequences.

If this was a real story, which I highly doubt posting it on law school discussion makes about as much sense as me bursting into the SF Police Station and saying Loki did not completely agree with me on Law School Discussion a anonymous internet site that allows people to talk about law school.

The cops would say that is to bad, but we can't help you.

That is all we can say to the OP if this story is true it is really shi**y, but what purpose does posting this story on this website do, other than harm Georgetown?

Taking the story as true I don't see what Georgetown did wrong. An alumni was allegedly a creep and Georgetown later rejected your application. However, your numbers did not make you a shoe in for admission to begin with and Georgetown is not exactly handing out seats. There is no actual correlation showing the rejection was related to the interaction with the alumni.

In fact I find it highly unlikely this alumni has much if any say regarding admission decisions, and I doubt anything in the story happened. However, I know most law schools are not simply waiting for their alumni to weigh in on an applicant. An alumni's opinion might matter in the slightest, but it is not going to make or break your application.

As Loki says this is the definition of defamation.
