Title: U of Washington(UW) Tax LLM
Post by: sanam on July 14, 2013, 05:46:26 AM
Hi guys, I have been accepted to UW tax LLM in Seattle and waitlisted at Gtown tax LLM (most likely will be rejected).I am interested in tax law and did some clinical work in tax controversy at my law school's legal tax clinic for 2 semesters. Do you think UW tax LLM is worth the investment even with its tuition being half of Gtown's. Is there any demand still for new tax lawyers in Seattle or rest of the country for that matter. Does UW's tax LLM have a good reputation regionally or nationally? Will a tax LLM from UW help in landing a legal tax job?

UW is very well respected in the Pacific Northwest, but I have no idea what the market is like for tax lawyers in Seattle. Although it's a well respected school, you still might have a hard time relying on a UW pedigree alone to land jobs outside of the western U.S.

I'd contact UW and ask about their placement for tax LL.Ms, and about the tax market in general.
