Title: logic games: 10 Actual vs. 10 More Actual
Post by: $ones on June 02, 2004, 06:37:12 PM
I just got killed on the games section of the last 2 exams I did from the 10 More Actual Exams, #21 and #22. The games were slightly different from what I was used dealing with in the older 10 Actual Exams and I could not adjust within the time constraints.  I went back later in the day with a fresh mind and they made a lot more sense and I was able to see the key deductions almost right off the bat. Maybe I just need a day off or something. My scores along with my poise have dropped the last 2 exams. I've written exams in more consecutive days now then I ever have. What do you guys think? Signs of burnout?

games are tough for me.  have you gone thru the LG Bible?  I did that then did every available LSAT games section (all the newer ones twice).  i have improved my methods for attacking the games and am now capable of doing very well on a games sections and there are usually 1 or 2 games in each section that i can do relatively easily.

all of this, i would characterize as progress.  but, i still get stumped on games somtimes (miss the key inference) or (my biggest problem) misdiagram, or misread something, or misinterpret something i wrote (even sometimes if it is written perfectly).

so, based on my experience, practice practice practice can help.  but if you are like me, even with preperation you may still get bent over by any given games section.

but if you havent done so, def look at LG Bible and def make sure to do the most recent LSATs.

if you dont have #30-38, i would buy them right away off amazon with overnight or second day shipping.  i would also get #39-42 off LSAT.com.  these are the most recent tests and should be most helpful in prepping for the test.
