Title: I can't find my wallet
Post by: hilljack on April 25, 2005, 06:43:21 PM
Seriously, I have spent all afternoon looking for it.  I checked the car, five pairs of pants, underneath all the chairs and couches, it is like that little bastard just disappeared.

Where should I look next?

st. anthony st. anthony, please come around
something is lost and cannot be found (then think of the object)

it won't be immediate, but he'll help you find it

St. Anthony is the finder of lost things
but if you mock him or the saying, he'll make it harder to find

I have it. Can I borrow $5?

Update:  My wallet has still not been found.  I have started just cleaning the house, figuring that I will come across it.  I really need to get some groceries tomorrow.

I have no intention of pissing off St. Anthony right now.

If you'll just let me borrow the $5 I'll give it back.

I ask a serious question and get these worthless responses.  Come on y'all, has anyone ever found their wallet/keys in some wierd place.  Any suggestion would be good, because I have even looked under the microwave and behind the fridge.

In the fridge, behind the toilet, under your bed, in a dresser drawer, behind your front door, in your car...

(I really do have it, though.)

Definitely check in your truck.

The last time hubby lost his wallet, it was under a pile of folded clothes on top of the hamper.  He's left it on the desk under some papers, it's fallen to the bottom of his closet.  It even ended up in the couch cushions a few times.  And each time he asks me the same old thing... "What have YOU done with my wallet?"

There is one easy way.  Go to a warehouse or a factory and see the work they do.  Then ask yourself if you want to do that.  If you say 'hmm, that doesn't look so bad' have a friend punch you in the nuts three times, this will train you not to think that way.
Title: Re: I can't find my wallet
Post by: ormachea on April 26, 2005, 08:01:37 PM
Is three punches in the nuts enough? Should I do four?

And the problem is there's only 1 class I might fail and all I have to do is drop that minor--I can use another one in its place for graduating purposes.

Nope, not behind the fridge... I'm going to call Lost and Found tomorrow.

A very good friend of mine used to be absolutely notorious for losing his wallet.

For a while he lived in an apartment complex with a little man-made stream running through it. His dad went to visit him one time, and saw some money floating down the stream. By the time he got to my friend's apartment he had fished out a few credit cards, a couple hundred dollars, my friend's driver's license, and the wallet itself.

Another time this guy, one other friend and I were driving to Vegas from Orange County on a very windy Friday afternoon. Traffic was almost at a dead stop, and people were hanging out their windows, yelling at one another, and generally starting a fun and rowdy Las Vegas weekend while still on the road. I wanted to join the fun. But just to make sure I wouldn't fall out of the car when I climbed onto the passenger side window, I decided to open the door and slam it shut. What I didn't know is my friend had stashed his wallet (filled with about $500) between the door and the seat. So when I opened the door, the wallet flew out and money started swirling around like on that old Don Ho gameshow. Just at that moment traffic started to move. The guy who is not an idiot and was driving started to move, and I yelled "STOP THE CAR!!" So me and my buddy jumped out and started chasing loose bills all over the freeway. We managed to recover about $200.

And I haven't even mentioned his keys.

He's not so healthy, though. Even I can't make fun of people with Alzheimer's. That one hits too close to home.

You guys are soooo right!  Even if some mugger didn't steal my wallet, Penn would have gouged over $100,000 from me.  Pity party officially over!   ;D  Now where were we?  Oh yeah... that guy found his wallet in the couch cushions or something.

I understand. I lost my driver's license the other day. Fortunately, $10 and 10 minutes at the DMV, which is two minutes from work, fixed all of that. DMV is one thing the Commonwealth of Virginia does well.

I am glad I don't have to get a new Fl DL. The new ones are ugly. I have had Dls from 4 states since I turned 16. Which was not that long ago. crazy.

How in God's holy name did you make it through the DMV in under 3 hours?  That's truly amazing!

I lost my wallet too. I spent hours looking for it this morning. I even cleaned my entire house. I said a serious prayer to Saint Anthony, (I was raised Catholic). And for some odd reason, something told me to go look through my dirty laundry. And what do you know, there it was. Now let me point out, this is not a wallet that you carry around in your pocket. It is a big wallet that a woman puts in her purse. I think on of my kids put it in the dirty laundry. They tend to hide things that they know they aren't supposed to have. Thank you St. Anthony for guiding me in the right direction to find my wallet!  ;)

I think you should say a prayer to St. Spankass, the patron saint of corporal punishment.

ahh...the good ol' days on lsd.

ha ha.  Oh the memories.

The late night drunk posts, later deleted ones, the great endless debates filled with vitriol, accusations, asinine positions and arguments, the race and whatever other hot political issue baiting fights and discussions.  Those were the days.  Now everyone is tortured because they have to get their fill of all that without reading or writing cuz they have to spend time pressing a few TV remote buttons to tune in cable shows/political news or touch an iPhone to watch stuff on the go while figuring out what to do with the other hand for other pleasures at the same time without the horrible burden of having to type out, read or write something longer than 140 characters.  Maybe Apple should program Siri to post peoples thoughts and complaints on LSD through the voice recognition/transcription technology.
