Title: Temple Waitlist Hot Tub Party
Post by: Douglast88 on April 15, 2005, 07:21:43 AM
Does anyone know any statistics associated with the Temple waitlist?  If not, how many people here have been waitlisted?

In the letter they gave you an option of "...sending additional material..." and I think I am going to send a few more LOR's and a "Please Let Me In" letter.  Any other suggested strategies?

Temple hasn't gone to their waitlist in 3 years.
How do I know this?  Last year, I applied and at
an open house, I was told that for two straight
years, no one was admitted from the waitlist.
I was waitlisted last year, and was told this
fall that no one was taken off the waitlist.

That said, I'm a 1L at Penn State on full
scholarship and I couldn't be happier.

Are you a URM? I think if you didn't include this
on your application,  that's about the only way
to be admitted from the waitlist at this point.

Another option?  Retake the LSAT in June and
request to be considered until classes begin in
the fall.  If you can get your LSAT 10 points higher,
this might get you in too.

Nahhh --- I talked to the Admin Office and they said they let in 15 people last year.  They also said that they didn't have a "ranking system" for kidos, so they review each application again.

Anyone else have any information?

Super Bump

Anyone there?  Any new stats on T.U. waitlist?  I've already made my decision but I'm still curious.

If you really want off the temple waitlist, request to take a part-time spot. This is what I did this cycle, and a week after the first check deadline I was called and offered the spot. You can easily transfer from PT to FT after a year.

I originally applied for part time.  but thanks for making me feel even more rejected.

Naw seroiusly, I not sure I really put much effort in the follow up letter because Penn Stat was a close second choice for me.  I just took thier offer.  I'm also interested in the adventure.  I'm from philly, and Temple Alumn, so going there would be sort of "same old" for me.  I have't withdrawn from T.U. just to see if I ever get selected.

Well another tip to also try and get off the TU waitlist, email them your continued interest very regularly. From the time I got waitlisted in February until May when I got the offered I emailed the office to show my interest once every 2 weeks or so and often followed with phone calls maybe once a month. My contact there made it very clear that because I was so persistant that I got the spot. Sorry to make you feel rejected, didn't mean to offend, best of luck.

If ad comms say 15, you can feel pretty sure that's the correct number.

Temple student here.  Many folks taken from the waitlist every year...many.  They begin to take folks with 158s, 157s, etc.  Just e-mail Johanna one every coupla weeks repeating your interest.  The ratio of folks folks accepted off the list to folks on the list is fairly high, too.
