Title: Do they film the exam?
Post by: fresnelp on July 31, 2002, 01:51:18 PM
Hi all,

I was just wondering if they film the exam (I have taken GMAT and I think ETS does it), and if they do, shouldn't they ask for our permission first?

That's a good question.  Even if they do film, they are under no legal obligation to inform us.  It tip-toes the line of ethics and is open to interpretation.  In truth, such observation is a very common marketing tactic, and cameras that you see in public places are not solely intended for security purposes.  One would be pretty surprised what some of the intentions are.
