Title: Has anyone used Mavis Beacon typing software?
Post by: Kelly on April 24, 2005, 10:00:30 AM
A while back, someone recommended that learning to type faster would be the best thing to learn to do during your summer.

I've heard quite a bit about this program called Mavis Beacon. Has anyone else used it too?

Is this the only thing you would advise I get? Any other learning to type software programs out there?

And what version/edition do you recommend?

Thanks,

When I was in 5th grade we used it in computer class.  It was great!  I haven't stopped typing since :)

Lol, so you're saying that it won't help an adult type faster?

No, no, no...I'm just saying that I owe my typing skills to that class.  If it weren't for MB, I wouldn't be able to type 65-70 wpm.

It's a great program...anyone can do it :)

Before Mavis Beacon I typed 30 WPM

Immediately after Mavis about 45 WPM

Now I type 85 WPM

I highly recommend it!

Thank you, I'm definitely convinced.
Question for you, what is the difference between the regular version 16 and the Deluxe version 16?

Before Mavis Beacon I typed 30 WPM

Immediately after Mavis about 45 WPM

Now I type 85 WPM

I highly recommend it!
