Eh, you can get a rough look at your chances here.

http://www.chiashu.com/cgi-bin/lsac.cgi?gpa=3.66&lsat=152

I don't know much about USD or Oregon, but Santa Clara, Arizona, SMU, and Maryland are sort of stretches for you. Have you thought about retaking the LSAT?

I don't think coming out of UCLA helps.

I don't understand the results in column 2.

Does 3.2xxxxx mean I would have roughly a 3% chance of getting in?

Does 0.6xxxxx mean I have less than 1% chance of getting in?

Thanks for any clarification. I only ask because (if the above is true) I have a better chance of getting into Harvard than Buffalo - which doesn't make sense.

Thanks, Oyer

chiashu is a little goofy sometimes.

What is your situation, if you don't mind me asking. Are you graduating from UG in the spring?

I'm asking this in order to see if you have time to retake the LSAT one more time as Ruff Ruff suggested. Raising that annoying triple-digit to at least 160+ will greatly improve your chances.

Oyer: See the "E-4" towards the end of the number. The probability is so small, they had to use scientific notiation to represent the number. 1.0E-2 means you have a 1 in 100 chance; 1.0E-3, means 1 in 1000. 4.5E-4 means 4.5 out of 10,000.

In other words, you have a snowball's chance in hell at these places.

0.01 is 1%
0.10 is 10%.
1.00 is 100%

You could get into U of Houston or St. Mary's in San Antonio.  I live next door to it, it's quiet pretty.  I think you have a decent chance at a lot of Tier 3 and 4 schools.  U.S. News and Reports' website would be a good place to start hunting for alternatives.

You dug up an ancient thread...

FYI, 152 isn't going to get you into UofH unless you're URM.

St. Mary's dinged me with a 153, albeit a lousy GPA.

Have to disagre, I got into UH with a 150, but was part time program, and I'm fat, white and balding so I'm an ORM.

PT notwithstanding.

Yea they let anybody in PT, even me!

Nah, not anyone. Not I. :(

I didn't specifically apply for PT, though. Maybe I should have!

I have very similar soft factors.

I thought I saw you the other day.  I didn't have a good view, but I snapped a picture anyway.  Is it you, Lane?

Nah. I'm actually not bothered at all by baldness...I work with little bald people all day, so it puts it in perspective!

Now I've gone and got chocolate all over the keyboard (again).  If you don't quit playing the cancer card, I'm going to get very fat.

Those can be quite painful, though. I hope you didn't let an AF doc take care of it...

No.  I got a bottle of 'Outgrow' and suffered through it.  Hey, I volunteered with Special Olympics yesterday (putting up plastic fencing and hanging banners).  See?  I help people.

Be careful using empty bottles as ashtrays....when you're wasted it's easy to confuse a normal bottle with an ashtray bottle. Trust me.

Amateur! ;D

Take some advice from an old drunk, always drink beer from a glass bottle; first the neck allows you more force when using it as a bludgeon to facilitate an “attitude adjustment” with a friend or fellow drunk.

Second, you can peal the back label off the bottle to denote it’s yours and not swap spittle with bubba; it gives both a visual indication, even with blurry vision, as to which beer is yours, as well as a tactile indicator for those low light drinking situations.

Third, peal the front label off once you have consumed all its golden goodness, this indicates its ready for use as an ashtray or an attention getter for smashing against the wall to indicate you have gone from happy drunk to angry or depressed drunk. Your hand will quickly feel, even if your eyes are now just mere slits, that this is your ashtray and not your adult beverage.

You can also just use a different brand of beer as your ashtray, this makes it someone else’s problem, and works especially well if you also steal their cigarettes while they are sluring the same story you have already heard three times that night.

Eh, the kids these days...don't know nothin'!
