GW vs. GULC

Back off Erapitt on this one.  He was attacked, and responded in kind.  Sounds like they have a personal PM beef that's expanding to the general board; maybe we shouldn't weigh in on it?

Erapitt doesn't seem to be in on the "Don't worry! You can raise your LSAT score 30 points by June!  Just study!"-kumbayah of the LSD community.  Oh well.  I respect "call it like I see it" much more than trying to convince community college transfers that they'll be at Yale next year with the help of just a little positive thinking. ;)

Likewise...I also call it like I see it. If I see an arrogant, condescending jackass...well, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, sounds like a duck, smells like a duck, and is just as annoying as a duck...then, well...

Eh, whatever. I am ecstatic to be going to American...it's a good fit for me, I love Tenleytown and Northwest D.C., it has the programs I want, has the professors I want to learn from, so I'm beyond content with it.

Scotty, I sense some pent up frustrations.  Posting about American on a thread related to GW v. GULC.  Must have been a while since you have gotten laid.  I'm glad you are okay with American.  Moving along.....   ::)

Pot calling the kettle black, eh there? You're the one who reacted viscerally to somebody suggesting that nobody would choose GW over GULC, so...needless to say...I'm not the one who uses my "free time" to harass people on Internet message boards.

I'm calling B.S. on that. I think you're insecure about it. And, as for the not getting laid, I've already established that my girlfriend is hotter than yours...

Not that I am going to start a pissing contest so childish as to who's girl is better looking but my wife definately turns heads here in the district.

Its okay scotty.  If changing the subject makes you feel better about your inferiority complex I don't mind.

I call shenanigans on both of you.

"My girlfriend is hotter than yours" is not a really great comeback to "you don't have GW or GULC as a choice."

Go find a playground somewhere to meet after school and throw rocks at each other.

George Jefferson,

EXACTLY. Serenity is the key...frankly, rankings and reputations aside, I like the atmosphere at A.U. better than at G.W.  I lived at G.W. last summer doing an internship at an NPO, and I frankly didn't really like the atmosphere on campus...a little cement cold for my tastes. The people at American are incredibly friendly, warm, and open...on my official visit a couple months ago, I went to two classes, a Civ Pro and a Criminal Law class. I snuck into the back of Civ Pro, and then when I went to the same section's Crim Law class, I had five or six people come up to me and ask if I enjoyed Civ Pro...and I hadn't even done anyting to draw attention to myself.

So, to make a long story short...I felt it necessary to call Erapitt out, as I often feel it necessary to call people who have the natural tendency to look down on others or demean them to make themselves feel better. My one-upmanship here (hot girlfriend, serenity, whatever) was a response to somebody that, really, I don't even know, and may be a great guy, but has come across as nothing short of an arrogant panty-waist.

Era, let's both look at it this way...you're going to GW to pursue private sector litigation in a big firm, I'm going to AU to pursue public interest and administrative law. We each are probably from opposite ends of the country (I'm a West Coast guy, and I'll assume you're an East Coast guy), have different lifestyles, probably different political beliefs, different hobbies, interests, etc. My experiences in life have taken me to one place, yours to another...there is no need to rub a perceived aspect of superiority in another's face. It's what kids on the playground and high school jocks do, not grown-up, rational adults who should have the professional courtesy and humility to talk and live like you've been there.

With regard to your original PM...I see your point, and I agree that Stanford is an ABSOLUTE long shot...I'd have to ace my first year and get excellent letters of recommendation to do so...I was unaware that SLS looked at UGPA and LSAT for transfer students. My problem isn't your suggestion. It was the manner in which you did so: "Come back down to earth." Tact is a valuable personal and professional quality.

So, let's lay this to rest until you guys kick our ass in basketball this year, mm-kay?

Fine by me.  However, your "one-upmanship" as you call it, is totally unfounded considering you have never seen me or my wife lol ;).

Anyway, I agree to let this die.  Good luck at American, but don't act like you chose it OVER GW when you didn't get in.  That would be like me saying I chose GW over GULC, but wait, I was never admitted.

On a lighter note: I didn't even know American had a D1 basketball team, do they?  Have they ever made it to the tourney?  I think GW's squad is over-rated anyway.  They don't play anybody worth while most of the season, which is why they end up with a decent seed but never really go anywhere once it's crunch time.

AU's basketball team has never made the tourney. My freshman year we came close but Holy Cross beat us. Our most famous b-ball alum is Ron Artest prototype Kermit Washington.
