T3 to T1 is possible

T3 to T1 is possible

Hey guys, just wanted to wish those of you who are still waiting on transfer decisions good luck.  I received a call yesterday from George Washington letting me know they would accept my transfer application.  I am coming from a T3 school and couldn't be happier.  That being said, for those of you who worked really hard at the lower tier schools and are trying to transfer up to the tier 1 schools, it is definitely possible.

Is anyone familiar with the D.C. area, I'm trying to find a good area to search for housing.  Any pointers would be helpful

Do you mind sharing your stats?  And, when did GW call you?  I called the admissions office early last week and was told that the committee didn't start reviewing files until the first week of July.

Anyone on this board have experience transferring to GW?  Thoughts on the school?  Chances for OCI?  Thanks for your help.

Hi, congrats. I live and work in the DC area and just to warn you it is EXPENSIVE. If GW has on campus housing I would suggest you take that option. If the law school is co-located with the undergrad its located on 23rd St. near the State Department and Watergate Hotel. Rents in DC metro usually low end start at $1200. which is pretty cheap. I'm not sure you will be able to find anything in that area for below
$1500. Anyway I am not a law student yet but just wanted to give you the heads up on what to expect for housing costs. Once again congrats on the transfer

Whebert - I had my application in very early so maybe that explains the quick notification?  I was top 10% with a 3.3 gpa (2.7 curve)

Congrats guys!  I know what its like to have your dreams come true.  I recently got accepted to Berkeley; however, because of finances, I may not be able to attend after all.

But I'm very proud of you all!

If you got into Boalt you've got to go. Loans, schmoans.  Take the elite big firm job out of Boalt and pay the debt off quickly if necessary.  Congratulations.

when did you find out about g-town?  what were your stats?  i'm waiting to hear from them-- i called on friday to make sure everything was in, and the transfer admissions coordinator told me that a decision had already been made.  now begins the terrible waiting process... again (got deferred EA from g-town).

good luck to all.
