So when that thin envelope from Berkeley comes, which bridge should I jump from?

Agreed. I have a brutal cough/sickness and can't take waiting for deferrals to come back.

Post-birthday blues got you down?

Yeah, man!  For some reason, I always get the blues either before or after my birthday.  Usually it is before.  And I think I was okay last year.

I've just been having a pretty crappy day today, I guess.  Misery loves company and all that.

any one but the golden gate.  too cliche.

Only on mailbox days.

Just because you can go to the mailbox does not mean you must. Perhaps living life for a day and letting go of all this is best. If, you know, that's possible.

I remember happy, bright-eyed tL from the Fall...oh, those days seem so long ago.

Please, whatever you do, just don't post that sad teddy bear that BearlyLegal put up as his avatar a couple of weeks ago.  That thing was too sad.

True that. One of the reasons I am most looking forward to getting out town this weekend is to be away from my email/mailbox. It will be a relief. Sad, but true.

is it a better day today for everyone?  i'm running on one hour of sleep, but already it's better than yesterday.

Why one hour of sleep? And why does life suck?

I read a NYT article about how 10% of African-American men are in prison. That sucks.

But life, at least for 99% of the people on this board, I think is pretty good. I forget how lucky I am sometimes.

Today is much better already.  My job, combined with this law school application process, has me stressed out at times.

I agree. I just found out a woman I know, age 44, 5 years older than me, has cancer. She has elementary age kids.

That's not to diminish our own stresses though. I'm pretty stressed out right now too. Knowing she has cancer doesn't make me less stressed. But it does help put my stress in perspective.

Yeah, I agree.  Life is good for most of us.  That definitely includes myself.

My mom just asked me if I was interested in taking a class on difficult kids (My 4 year old is delayed and my 13 year old is "difficult") and I told her:

Quote
Yes, I did get the info. And I was somewhat interested. I'm just not sure
how much more stuff I can pack into the next few months. I still have to do
my prepping for the class I'm teaching in April (yes, I'm teaching for one
of the lsat prep companies), I'm visiting Berkeley, I
hope to visit Virginia but I don't see how that's going to work out. It's 2
weeks away. If I do get into Harvard/Yale/Stanford I'm going to have to
squeeze in a visit there. Plus, now it seems [child5] will be having that ear
drum repair. [child2]'s got cheer tryouts, then [honor choir] tryouts. If
[child3] should happen to get into that school with a good scholarship (long
shot I know) we'll have to drive out to visit. [child1]'s in that play last
weekend in March.

So even though I'm interested, I'm leery of adding anything to my schedule
right now :)

thanks dinei, she isn't really a friend, just an acquantaince. My mother works with her though and has for 15 years. I just feel so BAD for her. She did get some good news though. First they told her she had terminal lung cancer, no hope, now they are saying its actually non-hodkins lymphoma. So I think there's at least hope now.
