Corruption or incompetence is a far greater flaw in a police officer than in a member of just about any other profession.

Fans obviously value what they get from sports. How else would attendance rates and ticket prices and player salaries and merchandise sales be so high?

so by that argument, paris hilton is a hero.  people pay for her stuff.

A hero to one person it not necessarily a hero to all people. That holds for atheletes as well as police officers.

fair enough.  i'll just continue objecting to uses of the word hero with which i do not agree.

That was awesome when he shot Henderson last night. Although Henderson made a rookie mistake by not checking to see if the gun was loaded.
