Just turned in law review and journal applications. Finally... completely... done.

Freedom is amazing.

you are free whenever you choose to be free.

Yes, and I chose to be free after I finished choosing to do write-on.

Now, I choose to smoke a Don Pepin Garcia and drink tequila. Freely, even.

Ann Arbor really is gorgeous when the weather's nice. You summer starters have it good.

Feds in DC this summer.

I didn't get to do MAP, due to scheduling conflicts, but I regret missing it. You should do it if you can.

that's too bad; he seemed like he would be an interesting (animated though flighty?) prof to have a class with. where's he going?

Yale, the old alma mater. He's easily one of the top young scholars in jurisprudence, and Yale is where jurisprudence happens. Same with Omri and Chicago (Law & Economics).

It's part of the natural cycle of legal academe. Schools poach young talent from below, and get poached from above. The fact that we lose some folks to YHS (and even Chicago in it's renowned specialty) just speaks to the quality of the school, and the faculty, generally.

We poached Shapiro from Cardozo, and Omri from Tel-Aviv, I think. So it goes.

this thread has gotten decidedly creepier in the last two pages.

i like it

The creepy stalkerism has not yet begun to manifest itself. We're all up in eachother's business at Michigan.

Oh man, you totally did get outed, dude! I just read the wall for myself.

BTW, do you guys realize how many lurkers are out there? There were a few people at the ASW who knew me by my LSD name, but didn't have LSD accounts themselves (hello lurkers, if you're reading this right now :-P)

I've revealed myself to most everyone by now anyway, so there's not much left to out.  Everything is pretty much set in stone on where I'm going and what financial aid I am getting, and I've (hopefully) never said anything I would be ashamed of on here, so I prefer that people know the "real me" now.

I don't get how people figure this out.  I know a few people from back when I was in the secret Facebook group, but I don't get how, say, someone will get a call from a student who's also on LSD and make the connection.

It's a small world in these here tubes.

I've never been much for hiding my identity, myself. Anybody who knows me would sniff me out in a second.

As long as you're not a message-board monstrosity, I think you're okay.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this discussion-forum-thing and trying to catch up. I see quite a few of you are from LSN and that's sort of comforting. :) It's nice to be among friends.

A couple of questions, if anyone would answer them please:

A. How do we know what section we're in (e.g. ABCD instead of CD)? Will we find out at orientation? Does anyone know? I'm a summer-starter if it matters.
B. Is everyone planning on using their computer loan to buy a laptop instead of a desktop? I already have a laptop and I wouldn't be opposed to getting a newer one with more storage and just using the one I have at home or something, but I was planning on buying a desktop. Do they even make laptops with 250 GB of storage (amount recommended by IT)? Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I think we found out our sections by logging in to a website sometime over the summer. I forget exactly when... does anyone remember?

You can send the technology loan on whatever you like. They do make laptops with 250gb drives (but I'm baffled as to why the IT department would recommend that much.)
