i'm bitter that i didn't apply to more schools....i had noble ideas during the fall that i'd only appy to schools i was willing to attend.

as the slog has slowed and i only have 2 schools left and they are my uber-reaches.....i'm pretty much done.

I know i'm a ungrateful brat but I look at other people on LSD who have like, 7-9 acceptances to my 3, i feel so....unwanted.

blah.

Pookie hon, you are not unwanted! You have three AWESOME acceptances that I would claw for! And anyway, the grass is always greener on the other side. What's the use, really, of having an acceptance to a school you won't go to?  Plus, applying to more leaves you more open to rejections/WL than ever. :)

silentswirl, I think you are the nicest person on LSD. I hope you get lots more good news! You deserve it!

I am bitter because it is March, and I haven't had an acceptance in a LOOONG time and I still have 5 apps out there, and all of them have been out there since October, pretty much.

Killself time?

Pookie -- you got into Penn Law.  I know hundreds of kids who would kill for that.

But still...I know how you feel.  I got into Bama - good school - and I'm waiting on UT - great school.  I think UT is a reach, but it makes me wonder if I could have gotten to any other schools between #43 and #15.  That's a pretty big spread that I left wide open.

Then again...I've seen plenty of people get rejected by target schools.  If I'd applied to every school 15-30, I bet I would have gotten plenty of rejections/WL before getting an acceptance.

We should be happy!  People think we're smart enough to go to law school, and they want us to go to their law schools!

I worried about the same! The schools I applied to are ranked: 4, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 22(WL), 26(ding), 27, 32, 43(In), 51, 70, 80(In), Tier4.  Originally I thought I'd gotten a good range (going from ridiculously not gonna happen ---all the way to--- you're most likely in). But now I see big gaps where I keep thinking "what if I had applied..."

But it's gotta stop somewhere!

aww thanks Swirly and Boss,

you guys are very supportive and I wish y'all the best(EST) cycle ever!

and i am actually psyched about Penn, it was one of my absolute top choices from the beginning. I'm 95% sure i'm heading there in the fall, so I'm pretty content, and i just want my cycle to be over. :) although i've gotten a bit too addicted to the excitement of checking the mail (i swear, it's an addiction)

That is so weird, because I regret not applying to more "mid range", still would've been reaches for me, schools.  I applied to a lot of schools as well, ranging from "obviously not" to "probably yeah, but eh" and some in the middle, but I should've applied to more in the middel.  Oh well.

I think you'll get in somewhere great still.  Don't lose hope.

But if you get into any one of your reaches, would you still go to any of those mid-ranges? And if you got into your favorite mid-range, would you care about not having applied to others?  I guess that's kind of where I am. I love American, so anything around or below it ceases to exist. And not much chance of getting in anywhere higher. Barring any miracles, I almost feel like I'm done! :-\ lol...

And yes! I'm addicted to checking the mail, too! I definitely get a rush right before I open the box. And a sense of let-down once I've ruffled through everything. And anticipation builds as the hours pass till the next day. Symptoms of withdrawl on Sundays.

^That's true.  That's also the reason why I applied to so many schools where my chances were... um.. well not good.  I figured I'd get dinged at most, but maybe just one takes a chance, because that's all it takes.  Unfortunately, like I said in my other thread, most (all the ones I got answers from so far) of the schools I thought were "target" Waitlisted me.  So I'm kinda bumbed out.

But it's not over till it's over, so I'm moving forward.

5 out of 19? You have nearly 75% of the way to go, there are bound to be a bunch of acceptances there.

Oh, and stay on the waitlist at Notre Dame. I think you could pull it off and, if I hit any of my reaches, I'll be withdrawing there, so that'll be one closer. They're pretty accessible, too, and they've been bombarding me with stuff, which is bittersweet: sweet, because I appreciate all the extra info; bitter, because I always think the big envelopes are new acceptances and the thin letters are rejection letters.

By the way, someone back there mentioned something about you being one of the nicer LSDers... I'd have to agree.
