im pretty sure that it will either be notre dame or OU. I kind of like the idea of having a wide reciever play quarterback.  Not as much as i like the idea of a quarterback playing quarterback but beggars cant be choosers.

Lots of people considered OU the favorite befor the qb thing. I never thought bomar was that good so i say we still have a shot. I really dont think that we should have went from 5th to 22 over this Im kind of happy thought since i should be able to make a bunch of money on bodog during the first few games.

I would say the real test will be the oregon game.

Don't forget Tennessee was preseason #3 last year. I never trust preseason polls.

I can also safely say no Big 12 team will play for the national title this year.

I'll take Notre Dame simply due to their schedule and the fact that they don't have far to climb in the polls and whoever comes out of the SEC alive (if they don't beat up on each other like they always do).

i think the university of tulsa might win every game this year. it sucks that they moved to conference usa. Im not really sure how that conference works. does tu have to play in the liberty bowl or if they do go undefeated can they go to a better bowl? I really think their coach is one of the best in college ball.

Serious, what team is Texas bringing that would justify a number one ranking? More Dynasty brown nosing from those jackasses that can't actually play the game.

I'm not saying they're going to suck - I just don't see the justification for #1. USC is in the same boat.

My prediction for OU this year:

2006 Schedule

DATE    OPPONENT
09/02   UAB             W
09/09   Washington      W
09/16   at Oregon       L
09/23   M Tenn St       W
10/07   Texas           W
10/14   Iowa St         W
10/21   Colorado        W
10/28   at Missouri     W
11/04   at Texas A&M    W
11/11   Texas Tech      ?
11/18   at Baylor       W
11/25   at Oklahoma St  W

End the season ranked around #10

We'll see how well I do.

DATE    OPPONENT
09/02   UAB             W
09/09   Washington      W
09/16   at Oregon       L - Maybe
09/23   M Tenn St       W
10/07   Texas           L
10/14   Iowa St         ? - The North is between them and NU
10/21   Colorado        W
10/28   at Missouri     W
11/04   at Texas A&M    ? - this game is always close for some reason. (except 03  :D)
11/11   Texas Tech      L
11/18   at Baylor       W - OT last year and Baylor is only getting better.
11/25   at Oklahoma St  W

Just my thoughts...  OU's O-line has some serious holes this year that they haven't seen in a long time. It wouldn't have been that much of a problem with Bomar taking the rushes but Thompson is a different story.

Oklahoma will be OK. So will Stoops. That's because if a single incident can be one of the worst and finest moments of a program, this is it. Worst, because of the greed of two players who knew better. Finest, because Stoops didn't hesitate to act.
