Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Michigan waitlist letter
« on: June 21, 2006, 09:26:39 AM »
I got a letter yesterday from Michigan releasing me from its waitlist.  Not too surprising considering what I've been reading but wondering if others got this as well?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Penn!

I kept waiting for the rejection letter (since october) and I finally got it today.  Chances are good I'll be at cornell!

This is the dilemma I'm facing.  I guess CW says taking on the debt at Cornell would be worth it.  Honestly, I LOVED the school and it seems like students are pretty much guaranteed a high paying job.  But BU (where I did undergrad) is still top 20 and 60k saved is a lot of money.  Any thoughts?

Just got waitlist e-mail from Michigan.  I was expecting to be rejected so this is ok!

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Feb. 24th Admitted student day at ND
« on: February 26, 2006, 10:10:55 AM »
I went to the ND admitted student day last Friday and I have to say I was really impressed.  Considering that I'm a very liberal atheist, this surprised me a little bit!  I met so many students there and they all loved it.  I seriously asked at least 20 of them why they ended up choosing Notre Dame.  Most said they were just so impressed with how nice people were and I definitely felt it.  I'm even more seriously considering it now. Let me know if you want any more specific details!

Choosing the Right Law School / Another where should I go poll?

Most likely I'd end up in NYC or Boston but Chicago would be ok as well.  I'd like to work in a big firm.  Just want to get everyone's thoughts (this decision is so tough!)

Incoming 1Ls / Cornell student perspective?
« on: February 15, 2006, 09:57:39 AM »
I was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on how competitive, etc., Cornell students are?  Obviously, law students are competitive by nature but I didn't know if anyone knew about Cornell specifically.  I'm visiting in a few weeks but was hoping to hear something in advance.  Thanks!

Choosing the Right Law School / Withdrawing applications by e-mail?

I have definitely eliminated a few schools. Is it ok to just send an e-mail to the admissions office or should it be written and snail-mailed?  Thanks in advance.

I honestly had eliminated it but was surprised to be rejected!  Anyone else in this boat?

Choosing the Right Law School / Cornell vs. Wash U vs ND
« on: February 13, 2006, 10:33:07 AM »
Okay, so I've just discovered this website and it is fabulous.  My top 3 picks right now are Cornell, Wash U and Notre Dame.  I have plans to visit all three.  I want to ask your thoughts about these schools.  I got scholarships at Wash U and ND, but probably won't get anything at Cornell because it's need-based.  What I'm wondering are people's impressions of each of these schools and also how much more likely I'll be able to get a job out of Cornell vs. the others (i.e., so it's ok to take on the debt.)  Thanks in advance!
