With so many "woes" threads going around tonight (moving woes, dentist woes), I thought I'd start a thread for those of us who are in deep distress or misery about being in deep distress or misery.

i just realized i had that picture on my wall when i was like 8 years old. how embarrassing.

well, then you have an awesome bf don't you!  you probably don't know that you are totally lame because you are blinded by the love you have for your bf.

Sounds like you're just bitter. Or ugly.

i can tell you from experience that you don't want a SO during your first semester of ls for sure, and probably not for you second either.

I'll also be a 2L in August and I would have gone insane had I not had my boyfriend this past year....I probably would have dropped out or jumped off a roof had he not been there for me.

General Off-Topic Board / Re: LASIK Surgery?
« on: May 28, 2007, 11:31:50 AM »

Was this many years back? If so, he probably was right, but from the mid 90s and on the risks of LASIK are exceptionally small, and almost every complication that can happen is correctable. With the current system used in Norway the chance of complications are something like 0.01%. Can it go wrong? Yeah, any surgery can. But if he's trying to make a case that it's a risky surgery, he really needs to make some documentation, because he's speaking against the great majority...

It was 2002 but maybe he was making his determination based on stuff he heard about in the past, I don't know.

No grad school, no serious reading, eating, or traveling, no working over 50 hours per week, 40-80k per year, no real intellectual passions, etc.

No serious eating?

No votes for Ithaca? Interesting.

I voted for Ithaca but only because I went to undergrad at Cornell and have never been to any of the other cities...there are plenty of dirty hippies though. Especially down on the Ithaca Commons.

this is what makes the commons so awesome ... cornell kids are afraid to go down there ;D

hey....I had to go down there all the time because the offices for the cornell newspaper are there.  ;)

right down the street from the porno store

I bought my hot catholic schoolgirl skirt at that Evolution 102 store. Is that still there?
