Law School Admissions / RE: New LSAT Policy
« on: August 14, 2006, 10:28:30 AM »
I would just like to float a comment:

I've heard that the ABA recently changed their policy regarding LSAT scores (reporting the highest, rather than the average, for purposes of inclusion into ABA). Could this be, in part, a response to the declining number of tests administered?

You can see that four years ago they had 148,014 administered tests and at the end of last year 137,444. Admittedly not a large difference, but considering the decline has been consistent, perhaps they wanted to address the problem before it started cutting into their bottom line.

Thoughts?

If I were that certain I wanted to work in dallas, and if I were a non-traditional older student with a family, I would go to UT. It's a fantastic school, and with your stats you might swing a great scholarship.

The data isn't complete and the list continues to be updated; I should add that post dates from the data that was current about two weeks ago. I'd love to see the project completed.

Got the email. I plan on remaining on the waitlist until the end. If it doesn't work out, I'll stick with my current employer and reapply next cycle.

I'm still on the waitlist. I'd really like to attend and I plan on remaining on the waitlist until the very end.

I requested and was granted a deferral about two weeks ago.  I had submitted a deposit and I was very excited about attending, but a really neat job opportunity came along and I had to take it. I'll probably be at UT next year. And I'm also an out-of-stater.

Those who are interested in Teach for America can find organizational information at GuideStar, a service which publishes all kinds of data on non-profit organizations. I haven't read the report yet but here is the link (note:you'll have to register)
