Law School Admissions / All quiet on the Harvard Front
« on: May 11, 2007, 05:11:18 PM »
Has anyone still not heard ANYTHING from Harvard. No rejection, waitlist, acceptance nor deferral for me. Should I phone or are there others like me?

Minority and Non-Traditional Law Students / Masters Program?
« on: April 18, 2007, 04:38:23 PM »
I am committed to defering for a year thinking that I would work in my field at one of the top pharma companies.

Recently, though, I was offered the opportunity to do an accelerated masters in chemistry (it is from a canadian school where a masters is not the end result of an incomplete PhD).

Does anyone have a sense of whether this would be valuable for IP or if working at the large pharmaceutical for a year (doing good research) would be as valuable?

It would be a hard year but I would be willing if it confered a real advantage.

Law School Admissions / Weird spelling of major
« on: November 04, 2006, 10:15:25 AM »
Has anyone else noticed that if you select chemistry as your major, LSAC fills it is as "chemstry"?

Those who have noticed, have you manually adjusted on every application, or left it, assuming that they misspell for a reason?

Canadian Law Students / Canadian Advice
« on: November 01, 2006, 05:46:42 PM »
So, recently my family experienced a bit of financial hardship, which may or may not have resolved itself.

Issue: I am supposed to spend $250 applying to UVic in a few hours and am feeling very hesitant. That money may become necessary.

UofT allows one to apply late, which I would do once the financial issue has resolved itself.

question: does anyone know if this is an acceptable reason to delay application, or if I need to bring on the scary, interest accruing debt?

I should have asked the admin office, I know, but this problem appeared quite suddenly and has thrown me off track.

I feel stupid writing this, but hopefully someone has definitive information. 3 hours to go!

yep, I am selling out geekdom. help?

I have a PS and a 250 that I need critiqued. Anyone up for the challenge?

Canadian Law Students / Canadian Schools: LSAT and GPA mean
« on: October 04, 2006, 01:13:01 PM »
Thought it might be interesting to get a canadian cross section of LSAT and GPA means from the LSAC report:

Now we can finally figure out which school is best!

I have an updated PS, which is somewhat of a chronology of events and thus may suck.

Not exactly sure if I should try to focus on one event.

Anyway, if people were willing to have a look, with this issue in mind, I would be appreciative.

Canadian Law Students / What Schools would you take over UofT?
« on: September 22, 2006, 01:22:15 PM »
I am applying to top 5, but I don't have the greatest hope.

So, in your expert opinions: Why would I not go to UofT? What school should convince me to go to the US?

Should I forsake our great nation? I should probably tell you what I want to do, but I don't really want to.

So, without any knowledge of me or my desires, make appropriate decisions.

hello all,

I have a rough draft of my PS. Anyone willing to have a look?

Thanks in advance.
