the handcuff bit?  i certainly don't think that a child has a right not to be handcuffed, but that's because i don't believe in rights in general, especially fundamental ones.  however, i strongly believe that every legislature out there should say that handcuffing a child is a no go.  i'd rather that the teacher smacked the child before handcuffing him/her.

I wouldn't have framed it in terms of rights, either, probably, but I sure don't think it's a good idea.

i think i'm pretty deviant in my extreme positivist view of rights, so i don't expect anyone to agree with me there.  but wouldn't most people say that handcuffing a kid is a bad idea?
