your freeways are too small

this is actually a statement from my friend who is a transplant there from orange county.  (they have a car, but live in river north and go everywhere via metro)

Your friend is a coward!  Real highways are narrow, dangerous, and under construction.

Also, it's called the train.  Or, if you are a transplant from the 'burbs, the el.
But how do you deal with someone who rejects your broad moral principles?
I kill them.

in this case, small = to few options in terms of lanes

and, i shall endeavor to call it the train from now on.
Let me show you Derelicte. It is a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique.

They're break-dance fighting.

I don't drive, but I know how to shift.  My high school boyfriend taught me.

Looks like Miss P gets the awesome points. Not that she really needed them. 8)

Awww...

And I did need them actually.  I am feeling sorely un-awesome these days.

Hi Miss P! When are you done with exams?

This is a very good question with a few different answers.  My last exam is on the 7th.  I will be tied up in some other stuff until at least the 12th and possibly the 17th, but life mellows significantly after the 7th.

I can't wait!  Let me know if you need anything.

Tempted to buy a used car from a private party without having a mechanic look at it. Taking questions.

Where do you get your fine crack?

No, jk.  I'm sorry to hear someone snatched it out from under you.  Good luck in the search.  Go Maude!

Merging? What in the name of The Major William Francis Deegan Expressway is that?

One of my favorite Sopranos moments is when they're in Naples to visit the head godfather-type and he just keeps repeating this in his Italian accent, "May-JOR Dee-GAN Ex-PRESS-way."

I'm already there - I've been attending Hastings for the past year, but I'm just too busy to ever leave my apartment.

/secret.

There's no truth to this, is there?

If there is, in some ways, I will be upset.  On the other hand, I'll feel less guilty for my unfinished PMs full of advice about law schools and graduate programs.
That's cool how you referenced a case.

No truth (though it would be slightly amusing, I think).

Mayhaps. ;)

I'm sorry about all of your stress, but at least the Mets have a seemingly easy game today with Santana on the mound against the Nats.

Way to go, Jinx McJinxmaster!

What the hell are y'all doing to your cars to replace the "clutch" every 10K?

(I use the word "clutch" cautiously because I assume you're talking about automatics and not standards)

???

I don't think it's a stretch to assume most people drive automatics (especially as the industry is phasing out the standard transmission more and more each year)...

Neither do I. However, I think it's an unwarranted assumption to put "clutch" in scare quotes and assume that certain people (not "most people") are using the term incorrectly when they're talking about wearing them out on hills  ;)

I <3 manuals! And you get used to the hills.
