I have roomies now for the first time in many years.  Two male roommates, for a kind of reverse "Three's Company".  Except different.    So far so (mostly) good, although it's only been two weeks and school's not in session yet. 
Sure is cheap, tho.  At this point, I'd probably live in a hole in the backyard covered by a tarp if it promised to help minimize my financial stresses.

Hmm with wife and two kids and a dog.  I think moving to another city and seeing them on weekends would end in divorce court.  But at least I would have access to a good lawyer?

Depends on where I end up, but I'll most likely have a non-student roommate. I'd like to be able to come home to a place where I can escape the law school bubble.
