Apparently, LSAC doesn't supply a list of schools' opening dates for accepting apps. That's silly, so it's left to us here at LSD to do their work for them. I'm not vetting any of this, so if you think some of the data's bad, reply to the thread with a link to the correct information. Thanks!

Note: these dates are for the 2006-2007 cycle!

I don't think there is one. I put together a list for the schools I'm applying to but I think it would be much appreciated if you start compiling a master list. In mine, I also included the application fee which I think people may find useful as well. Here's what I have:

Name             Application Begins   Application Fee
UChicago              1-Sep-06                  $65
Yale                        1-Sep-06                   $70
Columbia             1-Sep-06                   $70
Harvard               15-Sep-06                 $75
Northwestern    1-Oct-06                   $80
Kent                        1-Oct-06                  $60
Loyola, Chicago 1-Oct-06                   $50/none
NYU                       15-Oct-06                $85

She is serious - and that $85 is for the online application, if you submit by paper it's $100.

Just seems odd to me (and slightly risky) to cuss out the administration at a school, in public, over something so trivial. I would perhaps exclaim a "holy sh*t!" if it were $1,000...but $15 more than what I'm used to paying? Ehh...what's a $15 difference? You can spend that much on parking for a day. And most will be spending a lot more than that on tuition and miscellaneous fees when school starts.

Here's a funny story. When I applied to Yale Grad School I sent them an $80 app fee with my whole application all in one envelope. I was surprised when I got an acceptance 3 weeks later and the application fee still hasn't been cashed. Well two years later they still have not cashed that check and I stopped expecting to get a phone call asking me to pay the fee :) There is always hope.

well, it was kind of a joke.  it does seem a little high, but i was having a deliberately over-the-top reaction.  you know, for comic effect.  i'm still applying to nyu.  actually, it's still my top choice.

kind of didn't think "fucks" would make it through the editing on here.  my bad.

@#!* that. $85 is espcially high and $100 is ridiculous. You guys haven't been through the process yet, but I can speak for almost everyone on this board when I say out of all the top schools, NYU has the worst admissions office. They are unresponsive, rude, and not very helpful at all. So, as good as the school is, I think it's ridiculous that a school with such a bad admissions office would charge more than any other school.
