A lot of schools leaving themselves wiggle room based on what they're saying.  Waiting to find out if USNWR changes its methodology?

It is my understanding that the scores reported to USNWR are the same as those reported to LSAC / ABA. So USNWR doesn't have to actually change its methods of ranking, the rankings will just sort of be inherently affected, in as much as the score ranges of schools will likely jump a few points (but how much cannot be said - should be interesting to see in a couple of years). I doubt the reporting of highest score only would change the rankings much. HYS will still get the top scorers. CCN a teeny bit lower, etc. However I could be completely wrong and the schools could be reporting different score ranges to USNWR. Either way I don't think schools are trying to leave themselves wiggle room. I think it is a case of in the past the average score has been seen as the best indicator (especially if there is only a few points difference), so they still want to consider this. It also means that they are still giving an advantage to those who only took it once. It wouldn't really be fair for schools to ignore lower scores (ie someone who scored 167 but then 172 getting in automatically over someone who took the test once and got 170). And now it seems that my lsat prep marathon today has gone to my head and I need to stop typing. Damn the retake!

hmmmm.. shows how much I know about USNWR... good thing I don't take the rankings toooo seriously. On a slightly unrelated note, do law schools report back to LSAC at the end of the cycle the scores of admitted applicants? I could swear that when I was reading about the ABA changes another organization was mentioned that had recently changed from taking average score to taking the highest score, and I thought it was LSAC. If I am just making this up, please forgive me, lately law school admissions has been invading my dreams. Last night I actually dreamed a visit to UCLA. Funny how their "student cafe/lounge" was actually a gross basement room with broken wooden chairs and a guy singing something really crappy with his out of tune guitar.....

There are quite a few schools who have said flat out that they will be taking the higher score (Boalt comes to mind).  How schools interpret their policies hasn't yet been established.  We won't know for sure how schools view multiple LSAT scores until after this next cycle.

Just got an email back from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge, which included this snippet:

"The Pacific McGeorge Admissions Committee considers the higest LSAT score."

That seems pretty clear to me.
Pish, J only wants to waste YOUR time.  Get wise.

You may want to reference your list against this new one that Deloggio has made:

Hmm Chicago's answer is weird.  But that's a good resource... no matter how much of a train wreck deloggio's site is.  I swear that woman needs to hire something called a WEBMASTER.

I'm guessing that Chicago's means they'll take the higher of two scores but average if one takes the lsat three times.  BTW, that website is frustrating as hell to navigate.

Where did the data for CLS come from?  It doesn't have support from any of the posts in this thread which suggest that they take the higher score only if >6 points.

The data for Columbia-and every other school listed with info not mention in the thread-came from deloggios website.  They have supposedly contacted these schools regarding their policies this cycle.

Link?  I can't find it on their main page.
