They don't let you use mechanical pencils??? That's insane!  I haven't owned a normal pencil on over 7 years.

I did not say that they won't let you use a mechanical pencil...but when somebody I know took the LSAT, that particular proctor would not let her use a mechanical pencil. So, just in case be prepared.

I think that maybe the proctor may have thought that the mechanical pencil was not a no.2 pencil?

Mind you...filling in bubbles with a fine mechancial pencil is more time consuming than using a somewhat dull regular no.2 pencil (the old fashioned kind).

You should bring your own timer BECAUSE that way you have your time right in front of you and you won't wonder how much time you have left....also....for example, the room where I am taking my LSAT has a clock in the BACK, so you would have to turn around to see the time...and some rooms do not have clocks at all...

I like to know how much time I have lleft in a section...pacing is really important!

Yeah, a timer makes a huge difference. I took one TM diagnostic without a timer, and there wasn't a clock in the room. I did worse on that than I did on any of the other diagnostics, because I wasn't able to pace myself.

You had to run out in the middle of a section???? I can't even imagine. I'm assuming they didn't let you make up the time?

No they didn't let me make it up, but when you gotta go...

Lucky for me it turned out to be the experimental section.  I didn't know this at the time, but this is why you never cancel at the test site cause I was able to find out when I got home.

I went twice during the first half of the test and once during the second.  Watch your coffee and water intake the morning of the test!  God, people musta loved me in the classroom. :P

Also, nicorette gum is good to have if you're a smoker.  Ugh, I hate the patch.

Another thing....if you know that your test center has only those little desk with hardly any table space...you can get yourself a board and put it on top of that little desk instead....you have that right....I know of somebody who has done this. She made a board that connected between two desks (they were nailed down and just had the little desk that fold down...and this way she had bigger space.

I just called LSAC about this and they said that bringing a desk extension is NOT permitted.  >:( >:( >:(

They said that the guidelines stipulate that you don't bring anything other than the pencils, etc. mentioned... also, that the only way they'd allow you to bring an extension is if you had a documented disability. And that the deadline for making that request was earlier this month. Jerks. I'm thinking of doing a Mission: Impossible move and replacing all the desks somehow...  8)
