Drake vs Suffolk
« on: March 05, 2010, 06:07:35 AM »
Just wondering what peoples opinion about these schools are. Suffolk would cost more, but its in an ideal location and I hear Suffolk is pretty well respected in Boston and the surrounding NE area. On the other hand, Drake would cost about $50,000 less if i can keep the scholarship they offered me (top 1/3 requirement) but it is not in the most ideal location IMO. However, i have been told that Drake has a virtual lock on the Des Moines and central Iowa market. I would love to live in Boston but not sure what to do. Also, while I am mindful about debt, the IBR that was passed with the CCRAA would make paying back my loans MUCH easier. Oh, and I don't want biglaw at all, my goal is to work for the DA. I interned with a judge out here in CA during undergrad got to talk to DA's and PD's all the time and I loved it.

No. I just got back from visiting both schools. The ASD at Suffolk was great and I was impressed with everything. I also went to Drake and sat in on a class and got a personal tour. Still kinda confused but I'm leaning more toward Suffolk.
