Another annoying where should I apply post :o

I've actually already sent out some applications and I am trying to decide where else I should apply. I am a blk female with a 3.2/160. So far I have only sent out apps to Vandy, UNC-Chapel Hill, Emory and GWU. Do any of you have any other suggestions about what schools I should be aiming for (t-14, t-25)?

If money is not a concern send some apps to school in the lower t14. What are your extras/work experience/essays like? What about ugrad? I have heard that lower GPAs are sometimes acceptable from grads of the Ivies plus a select few (Stanford, MIT, Duke, etc.)

Well I def didn't go to an Ivy. I just went to a small school in my state. I'm already out of school so I do have some post undergrad work experience. I don't want to give away too much personal info but I work in politics.

you need to send some apps to the t14 asap

Yup, 7-14.  Probably wouldn't hurt to throw apps at CCN too.  A super stretch, but they might bite.

3.3/160, what are my chances?
« Reply #2733 on: December 18, 2007, 03:40:54 PM »
Hello all,
This is my first post, and i would greatly appreciate any insight on my application situation...I have read through most of these posts so i think i have an idea of where i might be accepted/rejected by my number alone...I just wanted to ask do my soft factors make a difference? Or are they too average? Please let me know what you think.THANKS IN ADVANCE!  :)

I sent all of my apps out by 12/1 [I do not know if that is early enough for admissions committees to take a chance on me] and I think my chances of acceptance to...

HYS...virtually none
t4-t10...maybe 1, but a very slim chance
t10-t14...maybe 1 or two, but still a slim chance
14-20...good chance at all
20-30...should get into most

3.3/160
top 20 undergrad
black
history of socio-economic disadvantage

I'd say your targets should be 7-14.  So you're about right, but a little low.  Being homeless and a D1 athlete should help.

Hi, i am relatively new here to LSD. Here are my stats:
2.95 GPA Biology Major from University of Illinois
166 LSAT

I was originally planning to apply next year but my parents have their foots up my ass to apply this year all of a sudden.I still ahve to get my PS together, other essays together, and recs (AAAAAAAGH)  here are the schools that i will be applying to below and it looks like i will be very close to deadlines. My thoughts right now are that I will go ahead and apply and hope for the best and decide at the end of the cycle if i will reapply or matriculate.
Safeties: Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois

Reaches(a lot of these)
University of Illinois
University of Alabama
George Washington
University of Miami
Indiana
Iowa
Marquette
Depaul
Loyola Chicago
Chicago Kent
John Marshall

What do you think of my list especially so far into the cycle, any schools you think i should add or remove? Thank you in advance

He's Black and you keep underestimating your chances.  Univ. of Illinois is not a reach for you.  I got a full ride already and my numbers aren't that much better than yours.  You will get into all of those with money.  You need to aim higher.

Edit:  Get your applications in soon.  You might REALLY REALLY consider applying next year too.  If you don't even have your stuff together at this point, you will really be applying at the deadline.  You might get into better schools next year if you apply earlier.

correct -- with a 166 you should stay in the top 15.
Look to the left -- Look to the right
