I'm sure Wally casts his precious vote on Michigan in a heartbeat.

Delicious!  A few weeks ago, Wally was lovin' Michigan.  Then he gets deferred, and the school's suddenly overrated.  Pretty sophisticated worldview that kid has.   

P.S.  I'm with whoever it was who said that none of them are overrated.  What does that even mean?  The ratings may be subjective and two-dimensional and overly emphasized, but they are what they are, and they carry some real heft, and everyone in the legal field knows it. 

P.P.S. This even goes for the ones that rejected my ass.

The Leiter/Ciolli rankings make it seem as if Michigan's placement isn't as hot as some of its peer schools.  Obviously, you would be prepared to argue to the contrary as a Mich student, but, as an outsider who has nothing to go on but those rankings, I'll have to disagree.

No, no, quite the contrary.  It's no skin off my nuts if LSD deems Mich overrated.  I'm pleased as punch with my school, it's gotten me exactly where I wanted to be, and my ego doesn't need stroking.  Besides, the last thing I'd ever do is encourage the matriculation of prestige-whores.  I only chimed in to tease you about your oh-so-transparent change of heart.

I'm not a prestige whore!  I just want to ensure a great job.  I've been unemployed, and, trust me if you've never been in that precarious position, it's one of the worst feelings I can imagine.

Yeah, I took the Mich WL/deferral/rejection a little personally.  Teasing taken well.   

You graduated in December but haven't found work for the 8 months until LS, IIRC?  I'm sorry, but while that may technically qualify as unemployed, it certainly doesn't warrant the drama with which you portray it.  You're 21(?), have a college degree, don't have a wife and kids to support, probably have parents who'd help you out if things got really bad, and had spots available for you at Boalt and Duke a mere 8-9 months from when your job search failed.  Sure, your eyes may have been opened to a few things.  But dial back the drama a little bit, huh?  And if I'm off on any of this I apologize; I only vaguely remember the Wally job search thread.

We aren't attacking him. At least I'm not. Wally (I hope) knows I have nothing but love for him. Any teasing is beacause I know he can take it.
