On THIS board, Michigan gets the most trolling.

Penn gets the shaft.

Although not on the list, Princeton Law School is considered among the top 3 law schools according to laymen surveys. Samuel Alito, during his confirmation hearings, was credited with going to Princeton Law even though he didn't. Princeton Law enjoys considerable prestige even though it doesn't even exist. I don't know if that is over-rated or not, but it is impressive.

I'm thinking NYU.

I mean its in greenwich and it has a great PI program, but how else does it compare to Chicago and Columbia?

You hate me or the professor?  She's one of the reasons I love Penn.

Jealousy.

Why is Penn overrated?

What's funny is that Amy Wax is a big reason why I hate U Penn

I hereby vote against this thread.

I would put Chi and Col tied for 4th, followed by NYU, and then Penn.
The main partner in their Entertainment Law group went to CLS, but he was Fiske and on LR, so be careful.  You don't want to set yourself goals that are too high.

Chicago needs more trolls, too.  They're here, but they're not very aggressive.  I think that the school is underrated when you look at its incredible placement statistics, particularly for clerking and academia.  It destroys NYU and puts a slight dent in Columbia, so I wouldn't even compare it to its peer schools.  It's a lot closer to HYS territory.

On paper, Michigan doesn't place well enough to justify going there over a few other choices.  I would definitely troll for Michigan, too, if I heard better Leiter/Ciolli/anecodotal data.

I hesitate to get into something with Wally, but I don't have a lot going on today, so here goes. Why over-emphasize the importance of clerkships and academia? The majority of people aren't going to go into either one at even the most elite T14 schools, so who cares? if you end up somewhere that emphasizes clerkships and academia, don't you risk being the median student at a T2 school who gets totally neglected because the administration is focusing on their top ten percent?

Why do you all think Chicago has an advantage for clerkships over Columbia?  Is it purely on % placed?  Do you have any evidence regarding people of similar class placement who could get a certain clerkship from Chicago but not from Columbia?
