well, he did veto it and said the people of the state weren't interested.  thats def going to come back to haunt him.

problem is, this isn't isolated.  all across the country people are saying the same thing.  they don't want to pay for the upgrades needed, but they will scream bloody murder when the next bridge collapses.

and make no mistake, another one will collapse...

ok ok REPUBLICANS SUCK!  I can't remember who ran against Tim Pawlenty in 2000, but if that person had won, the bridge wouldn't have collapsed!

yeah!

didn't it start with a D?

<-wasn't old enough to vote

snicker, snicker

anywho, some good is coming out of it.  theyre making the states look at all the bridges of this type.

question is, what will they do if they find others in the same state of structural deficiency?

Do you guys think this will have an effect on the job market in Minneapolis? Job growth in Minneapolis used to be among the highest in the nation but had already been slowing in recent years... it seems like this can't help.

I don't think this is going to have any significant impact on the job market.

You're probably right - I hope you are right!

how many in your area?

Over 55% in my state. I guess we can expect tax increases (not that I earn a salary anymore).
Happy colored marbles that are rolling in my head
I put 'em back in the jacket of the one I love
Carry that velvet sack full of pretty colored marbles
And I'll ask you for 'em back, when I'm ready and done
