Taking Two Bar Exams

Logistics

It's time now for a note about logistics. How does one possibly take two bar exams at once? In most states, the bar exam is a two day test. To take two exams, you just spend an extra day of testing in another state. For example, you may take the entire New York bar exam in Albany, then while your friends are out drinking in celebration, you drive to Boston, sleep, and take the second day of the Massachusetts exam. You'll count the MBE day for both exams, so it's like taking a full two day test in both states. What a deal!

The only drawback to that is the physical torture of having to travel in the middle of the bar exam. The sitting, writing, driving, and worst of all, thinking, can really take a toll. Just think of the suffering you'd have to go through to later move to another state and take the bar all over again. That would be far worse.

Conclusion

I would absolutely recommend taking two bar exams to anyone considering it, provided you're confident that you will pass the harder of the two exams. You're already going to be working very hard in studying for the bar exam, and you might as well get as much out of that work as you can. The additional work required to pass a second exam is far less than the amount of work required to take a second exam at a later date.
